Help me out experts!! We have a Fantasmic dinner package booked for Sun, August 29. I booked with a credit card. ALL of our reservations are confirmed and we have a schedule. I just pulled up the Aug. Calendar and there is no Fantasmic scheduled for the the 29th. It has been canceled??? What the Heck!!! I called and got a cast member who was rude and uninformed who started her conversation with "shows are subject to change without notice" Well those of us who booked with credit cards need notice to cancel don't you think?? She put me on hold and came back and said that her support staff told her that the show is still on.....do I believe her at this point or not? She said that HW&V is still showing the fantasmic dinner package that night so it must be still on......I try to explain to her the consequences of the show changing including rescheduling so that we can see fantasmic but she was only interested in making her poing "subject to change...." I ended up telling her that I needed to speak to someone else because I didn't believe that it was still on that night, especially since she kept on with her mantra....."subject to change...." Has anyone else who has Fantasmic booked 8/29 called to reconfirm???? Thanks for your help and for reading my rant......Now, back to our regularly scheduled happy hour :goodvibes

wow... she wasn't very nice.... let me check on some of the other boards and see if they have Fantasmic showing for that night...

Disney calendars don't have Fantasmic listed but the "other" websites do.... wish I could have been more help...

Thank you sooo much. You have been helpful. The cm was very rude but she did manage to say that she spoke to some of her support and they said it is still on. If they cancel it, the only other nights for us would be Thursday the 26th (we have LeCellier booked!!!) and Thursday the 2nd. We would have to rearrange dining and our entire 9 day schedule and it is too late for that.........:sad2: :sad1:

Stepdisney, I can understand why you are upset and I don't have any specific information about the date of your package. One thing you must always keep in mind about the Fantasmic dinner packages is that weather can always cause a last minute cancellation of the show. Last December we decided to see Fantasmic on a night that had 2 shows scheduled. We did it without a dinner package. We arrived (in the rain) about the time people would have been allowed into the theater for the first show. It was cancelled due to the rain. There were hundreds of unhappy people turned away, most of whom had dinner package guarenteed seating. We hung around, eating our Earl of Sandwich wraps under cover near a CS food area. By the time of the second show the few folks that had waited it out were allowed into the nearly empty theater. We did not know for certain until show time if the show would go on, but it did.

Thanks Kathy. Fantasmic is our favorite Disney night-tiime show and we don't want to miss it at all. We do understand that it is a weather permitted show and we wouldn't be upset by this, knowing it could happen. I was upset to think that they would completely cancel it ahead of time without letting those who had booked the package know. The first thing they tell you when you book is that with the credit card, you need to cancel within a certain amount of time or you will be billed for dinner that night. Here's to hoping the show goes on as planned. :goodvibes

The Travel Agents calendar that someone posted on another thread http://www.disneytravelagents.com/S.../pdf/ParkHours/WDW_Operating_Calendar_aug.pdf is showing Fantasmic at 8:30 for that night.

Thank you so much for the link. Yes, this is the original schedule from when I booked the package. The WDW website is showing the park closing at 7:30 now :scared1:. That is a BIG difference for those who scheduled that day for DHS with the fantasmic package. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Take any posts outside of Disney's web site with a grain of salt. Fantasmic shows have been decimated due to budget cuts.

Your date is during value season, which means they've been scheduling one or two shows per week.

However note that shows may be added later on depending on occupancy.

Yes, we are well aware that this is value season. The schedule vs. the booking of the package is the real issue. Those with packages scheduled should be informed ahead of time if there is a schedule change. There is no fantasmic dinner package without the show. They had two shows that week until...today. The CM I spoke to said that it is still scheduled although not on the calendar. I'm confused as to why this would be.

Update

Park closing was 10:00 when I originally booked the fantasmic dinner package. This morning it was 7:30 which prompted me to call. Now it is 8:30 which leads me to believe they may have 1 early show. I am expecting a call from customer services tomorrow as I was able to reach a very nice cm who directed to customer services. She was as surprised as I was about the change and said that they normally find out in advance and call those who have the package booked and help us switch if we can. :thumbsup2

sure hope it works out well for you...wishing you pixie dust :wizard:

Thank you! :flower3:

I got a call this morning just after 8:00. Didn't get to the phone on time but the CM left a message saying that she would call back. She did say that Fantasmic is still scheduled for 8/29 though it doesn't indicate so on the Aug. calendar. :yay: I will wait until she calls back.

You can't even depend on Disney's website, they post wrong information rather often.

You are right about that. It makes it rather hard to plan dinners and parks when the calendar is not up-to-date. All is well, though. Fantasmic IS scheduled for Aug. 29th, no matter what the calendar says. CM confirmed it on her calendar. We should see the change soon.
