I asked if I could go seasonal between my CP and my PI and was told that I had "no obligation" to do that and to enjoy my "time off". I asked if I COULD and I was told NO. They have too many seasonal CMs, so no one is able to pick up CT, at least in Dinoland merch. It may be different in other areas, but that's the news from today.

From what I have heard, they are really restricting seasonal cast at this time. Those are what I have heard from people I know currently working down there, so it may or may not be true. But they want to make sure that all FT/PT get their hours right now, so seasonal cast are being restricted in their work.

Have you tried going to Casting and applying for Casual Temporary status in another role?

The Walt Disney World Resort is currently hiring Casual Regular Housekeeping H/H (they're even offering special Disney Casting Scout bonuses for referrals into that specific role), so I can't see why they can't hire Casual Temporary Cast Members in that role.

In accordance with the provisions of both the Full Time and Casual Regular Service Trades Council Union Collective Bargaining Agreements, and given the current state of the economy, there likely won't be many hours available, but they should still have some positions available.

Yikes! I really hope things are better after my CP. I really want to go FT.

No, I only have a month off between programs and really just wanted to pick up a week anyway, so I'll just have to wait and pray that January looks better!

it does depend on your role, because I know where I work that we have full time positions available. and one of our CP's has already been approved to go full time and another is waiting for approval.

Seasonal Cast Members are never guaranteed any hours. Any restriction they may have would be based on a location's need. As in they can fill their hours with CP, full time, or part time cast and they have no need for additional Seasonal Cast Members to fill in the gaps.

It also seems it depends on your management and your area manager. At the end of my program a few of coworkers and I tried to go seasonal. I got it without a problem (just talked to my managers), it was a chore for the others - I had a clean record card and made sure I was on management's "good side" while the others had numerous call ins and such.
