Was checking out the rates for this place on HotelMartUSA and was a bit confused as to how they described the rooms - compared to what it showed on the actual Comfort Suites Maingate East site.. Sooooo.. I sent an email directly to Comfort Suites (didn't mention the price or the name of the hotel booking agent) and they responded almost immediately!

They said that I was probably looking at the HotelMartUSA site - that they are a VERY good hotel booking outfit - and they always carry the BEST rates for their suites..

I'm thinking seriously of booking there as I am very familiar with the area (we stayed at the Tropical Palms Fun Resort in Sept. 2001) - we really enjoyed walking around Old Town - and by being somewhere I have been before I know I'll have my bearings in place and be able to get to the parks and anywhere else we want to go without getting lost..

Anyhow - just wanted to share that HotelMartUSA appears to be a very legit place - with very good prices..

And if anyone knows any reason why I should not stay at the Comfort Suites Maingate East, let them speak now - or forever hold their piece... LOL ;)

Oh - the rate for the two queen suite for Dec. 2 - 11 (9 actual nights) is $495 plus tax - and I "think" there's a $2.14 hotel service charge per night.. Based on 12% tax (that's what the TPFR was) the grand total would be $573.66... It also includes breakfast - although I don't know if we'll really use it that often or not - and each room has a fridge and microwave..

What's everyone think???

I stayed at Comfort suites Maingate East right after it opened. It was a very nice place, and the breakfast was good too, sounds like you got a deal.

C. ANN,

Girl, I love you!!! Thanks for the info. I've been looking for a good rate on this hotel for quite some time. I had it booked for $64 on week nights and $87 for 2 Saturdays and one Sunday. Now, I've got it for $55 for 9 nights at the end of October through HotelMartUSA.com! You just saved me $150.60 plus tax.

My family really likes this hotel. I posted a description of the hotel in 2000 and 2001 under the thread "Comfort Suites Maingate East, is it the place it used to be?" or something very close to that. I had heard a negative comment and was wondering if it had recently gone down hill. From all indications, it hasn't. I guess a hotel is not going to make everyone happy
%100 of the time.

Thanks again for taking the time to post.

Glad I could help! If you don't mind my asking, what was the grand total (including taxes) after you booked it? I want to be sure I was right about the taxes and extra fees before I take the plunge..;)
