As of last week, Costco is now offering their own trip insurance. For our family of five, the cost is the following...for the first stateroom with three people in it, 40.00 per person. For the other two people, 72.00 per person.

Total cost: 264.00

Disney was going to be at least double that.

Costco is not letting pre existing reservations add on this insurance. They made an exception for me because the rep. told me the week before to hold off on getting other insurance, as theirs was going to be available shortly. They honored what the rep. told me. So there you have it! I think its a pretty good deal.

Still more than private insurers like www.insuremytrip.com or www.totaltravelinsurance.com. Everyone should do a lot of research about the coverage and insurance costs prior to signing up for insurance, but its always, ALWAYS - even if its Disney, a good idea to buy your insurance from someone other than the cruise line.

I agree. I think you can get cheaper (all depends on cost of trip and what you want covered), especially from the companies that cover children under 16 for free. Check the coverages closely to make sure they are similar and then go from there.

What are the specific coverage amounts (like for cancellation, interruption, delays, lost baggage, medical evac, etc.).

Cheaper doesn't always translate to "better" if the some coverage is missing, or if coverage maximums are significantly less.

I was pricing just last night per different companies. The biggest discrepancy I found was in the trip cancellation/interruption. Most places said $19 or some absurd amount but DCL says all nonrefundable fees due to a covered medical cond. I don't know about you guys but I could stand to lose quite a bit more than $19. Please help me understand how to compare apples and apples. All I could find was apples and kumquats

Your question actually confuses me. My insurance refunds everything for trip cancellation or a percentage for interruption - no medical condition necessary.
