Heading back to Princess Josie's Castle-An AKV May 22-29 PTR-TR Started 6/3!

I am over the moon excited that her testing will be over by the 21st.....what a huge weight off your shoulders:hug:

Jasmine and I are just heading out to look for accessories and grad shoes, but hopefully later today or tonight I'll have a post up.\

Enjoy your weekend my friend!!!
Hi Queen! I didn't get time to DIS over the weekend. I hope you are doing well!

I am glad they are letting her test early as well. What an exciting time for Jas! You need to pm me your addy so I can put something in the mail for her. :goodvibes You've done a great job with her Mom!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

I am glad to hear they were willing to work something out for Leanne!

Me too Megan! Luckily the testing she would be missing isn't as top secret as the other. They said it was no problem at all. I think it helps that she doesn't miss school and we work well with her teacher. For a first year teacher, we are so impressed. She is outstanding! :woohoo:

YAAAAY!!! Glad the testing is working out for you, that's hard!!! I'm SOOO glad Tyler gets out of school before June. My friend is having a similar problem, because they had so many snow days in NJ, their last day of school is hte 21st or 22nd, can't remember. THey're due to be down here by the 21st!!! So her kids are gonna miss the last couple of days. One is in the first grade, so not such a big deal, the other is in 9th, little more of a big deal LOL
Hi Christie!! I'm glad we get out in May as well. That's the main reason we travel in May...most northern schools are getting out until June. :goodvibes We were supposed to be out May 19 but the snow days got us this year too....of course it didn't help that we missed 5 days of school for a 1/4 inch of snow in January...:rolleyes1 but it's all working out so I'm not worried any more. We take going to school very seriously but in this case she will only be missing field day so no biggie. :goodvibes Hope it works out for your friend. :goodvibes

Y'all I have to come to work to get a break lately!!! :lmao:

We had a very productive and fun weekend this weekend! On Friday night we went out to eat with our Disney travelling buddies Jay, Leona, Preston (aka Presto) and Lexie. We had a great meal and then headed to Kohl's for some vacay shopping! I bought myself another pair of sunglasses and the girls talked me into some new jammies (Disney themed of course!). Joe bought another pair of tennis shoes.

Saturday, Lindsey had ball practice and after that we went on a hunt for a new stroller for Josie. I know that a lot of DISers think it's ridiculous for a 4 year old to need a stroller, but Josie is tiny and has to take 3 steps to our 1, she gets tired and if we can help it we want her to be comfortable. We looked all over but couldn't find anything that we thought was just right.

I did end up buying Josie another DS for the trip. I dont' think I shared it here but here's the back story. Josie has learned to write her name. It is a huge deal to her and nearly everything she touches these days she puts her name on. That includes the DS her Nana bought her for her fourth birthday back in September. When I saw it a few weeks ago I fussed at her for writing on it with a sharpie. I told her I would get it off and put it up. Well the next morning I woke up to a DS sitting in a pool of water in the girls' bathroom. :scared1: To her credit she got the writing off. BUT the DS is no more. I couldn't really get on her because she was trying to do the right thing and fix her mistake but the DS won't turn on at all now. So we bought her another and explained that it can't be anywhere near water. She gets it now. I never thought to explain the electronics/water thing but lesson learned on that one. :sad2: Anyway after all that shopping we didn't get home until almost 10pm. :scared1:

Yesterday morning we got up bright and early and headed to Nashville. We went to a Babies R Us. That's where we found Josie's new stroller, a Maclaren Volo! It's perfect for us. Light material that will dry quickly (should we get pummelled with rain again), folds up tightly, has a large canopy for blocking the sun, has a carrying strap, under stroller storage, and moves with ease. :thumbsup2 After finding it and getting 20% off :woohoo: we took it right down the street and tried it out at the Nashville zoo! We had a great time there. It's not as big of a zoo as the Lousiville Zoo but it's nice and the girls had fun. The stroller did great!! :cool1: We left the zoo about 5 pm, stopped at Joann's so I could get some material for a project I'm working on, ate at the Olive Garden and headed home. Again it was 8pm before we hit the door to our house.

I think all the major stuff is out of the way now for our trip. I will probably buy myself a few little things to wear but the girls are set. Now you see why I say I have to come to work to get a break! :rotfl: Hope all of you had a wonderful weekend!!

Sounds like you guys had a wonderful weekend! busy but fun!

poor Josie...she did try! :upsidedow

I don't blame you for wanting a stroller; we are bringing Ashton's. We were going to rent one but decided to just use ours...its not fancy and this trip will probably do it in; but, it is a major help to him and us.

Have a great rest at work!
:wave2:

First off, I missed the post about Lindsey's testing! I know that was a huge relief for you. I didn't say it before because I was trying to stay calm for you but I would have be freeeaaaaking out.

I don't think it's bad to have a 4 year old in a stroller. When Hunter was 4 we ended up renting a stroller a couple of days during our vacation because he was just like Josie...small and had to take 3 steps to our 1. The stroller rental sure made our vacation easier.

Oh my goodness on Josie washing the DS. Umm, I don't think I ever had the electronics-don't get near water talk either. Like you said, though, you couldn't really get on to her because she was just trying to get her name off it.

Hearing you mention Joann's makes me wish we still had one here. Our's closed down a couple of years ago and I miss it.

It sounds like you had a productive weekend. At least you know you've got most of your vacation shopping done. Just a few more weekends until you're headed to Disney!

Sounds like you had a great, but busy, weekend. Can you believe that we'll be at Disney in 33 days! :woohoo:

Wow, that was quite a weekend! I am tired just reading about it! Dinner and shopping is always fun. When are we going to get to see some of the cute things the girls will be wearing?? I am glad you are going to get yourself some new stuff too! Yay for the stroller-no judging here-Avery will probably still use ours. Cayley can out walk her hands down. Glad you had fun at the zoo. Doing a countdown? Ours is almost done :)

Hey Leanne! I am so sorry I have not been back to your PTR--I had seven pages to catch up on tonight!

Awe the girls look so adorable in their Easter dresses!! :woohoo: for Lindsey winning--is it one to be played with or left in its box? I love the cupcakes--I like the bright colors. :goodvibes: Sweet presents Dana! I bet that made the girls even more excited for the trip!

I am excited to have an 8:00 BBB appointment too. It is a little early, but we will make it an early evening the night before. To get the empty Main Street photos and good Castle pictures--so worth it! I don't blame you for checking all the ADRs, I want to as well. :goodvibes:

I am glad Lindsey's testing has worked out--I feel bad for her though! That is a LOT of testing. I can only imagine how fried the children are going to be after all that testing.

I am so packing our stroller!! I could not imagine not having it! We would end up carrying DD or breaking down and renting a stroller from Disney--no thank you!! :scared1:

Whew--sounds like your weekend was a busy as our weekend. Looking forward to seeing updates about the projects you are working on!

It looks like you had a very busy, but fun and productive weekend. I'm glad you found a good stroller, I rented a double stroller at Disney for Dallas up until he was about 8. I always worried about his asthma and all the walking. It usually just ended up being a carry all. :lmao:

:woohoo:33 DAYS :woohoo:

WOW!!! What a weekend!

No problem with the stroller here. Cooper is fine without one. He actually walked the trip last February at 2yo and last May/June. He surprised the heck out of me with that one. We actually had the stroller with us, but he never stayed in it. He wanted to walk.

That is so sweet that Josie tried to fix her mistake. Even though she made it an even bigger mistake...

WOW! What a busy and fun weekend! Glad you found a stroller for your little pixie Josie! I think that we will be taking a stroller to Disney for the girls even at 6 years old. That's a LOT of walking! Helk, even at 35, I could use a stroller!! :rotfl: We have a Maclaren Quest and it has been a great stroller for us. I almost bought the Maclaren double, but wanted something that was all terrain and a little bigger for the girls so I got the Bumbleride, but I still think maybe I should have gotten the Maclaren for Disney.

I'm so happy to hear that school was willing to work out the testing for Lindsey. She's going to need this vacation after all of those tests! :teacher:

Got word from Lindsey's teacher......

The curriculum coordinator is going to make sure Lindsey has all of her testing done by the 21st! Yay!!!! :woohoo::banana::woohoo::banana::woohoo::banana:

WOOHOO!!!! I am so relieved for you, Leanne! I can only imagine the relief you feel!

Wow! What a busy weekend you had! Olive Garden, shopping, and the zoo? Sounds like it was busy but also fun.

Hey Leanne. :) Sounds like a fun weekend! Man, I am really wanting to go to the zoo here. And now that you mention it, eat at the Olive Garden. Mmmm.

Hi Connie! We did have a good, yet busy weekend. Our old stroller was excellent but it's more suited to a baby and not a 4 year old. Since we are going in November as well, it would have cost $160 to rent and I got this new stroller for $96 after the discount. Even if we never use it again it will be worth it. :goodvibes

I can't believe how close you are to leaving!! How exciting!!

I was most definitely freaking out about the testing. It had the potential to be a deal breaker for us. :sad2: We are pleased so far with the stroller-I hope Josie does as well with it at Disney as she did at the zoo.

Yep, I really couldn't get on her for trying to do the right thing. I am certain she understands now. :rotfl:

We went to the Joann's in Nashville. I wish we had one hear though. I had a big time in that store. Fabrics and cake decorating goodies...:cloud9:.

We did have a productive weekend and I'm feeling much better about where we are at in the planning stages. Can't wait to make our first DVC trip!!!:banana::banana:
