I honestly thought my wife and I were done with 260 at AKV. Now that we are heading to Aulani this May and seeing that her sister bought at Aulani as well and the pictures and conversations they have had, my wife really wants to add-on, just 150-160 points to go once every three years. Will we buy direct or look for a resale is unknown yet. I thought we would have been happy with the original 100 points we bought.

Interesting that no one posted that they were looking to sell/reduce. I think that THIS is a large factor in why resale prices are going up...

Just closed on 2nd VGC contract, hopefully that will keep the addonitis at bay for a while!

We have 800 points across VWL, AKV, HHI. Holding out to see what happens with the new VWL units. If it's a new association, we may have to buy direct (boo!) to add-on those last 200 points to get to 1000. By the time our current VWL and HHI contracts expire, I will barely be into retirement, so would like to have the last 200 points we add on be closer to our AKV contract expiration date in 2057.

i just looked at the resale inventory for the first time since march and holy crap there is like nothing out there and the prices are pretty beefy and for striped contracts. i would love another 50 points to get to 300 but i can't justify those prices god i wish i could go back 4 years and tell myself to buy more when i bought in oh well happy we have enough for a 1 bed room most weeks at most resorts.........

For the first time in many years I do not have addonitis (whew). I feel like I have survived an addiction. The only place I wish we had bought is BLT. It is a fantastic resort. But I am NOT buying there. No. No. No.

I would like another 25 points but today's prices are way too high for my taste. I bought in early 2013 when prices started to go up. If prices drop again, I will gladly add on. For now, I will rent a small amount of $8 cheap rental points to cover any overage.

We have 395 now but I would like to add on another 100 or so. Part of my issue is that we borrowed points to do a GV this year and now I'm just in rears. We could just not take a Disney trip for a year or so, or I could transfer points from an owner.

This may seem counterintuitive, but, we actually sold points to spend more time at Disney and Orlando in general. We had over 1600 points and have sold down to where we own 545 points. We took the saved money and money we got from selling the points and got a second home in Orlando. Now we can go as much as we want with no long term planning and even stay for a month or two at a time.

We have all our own things there and can take our dog with us. When I looked at the yearly cost of the points and the money we had spent to buy the points, there is a point where you are spending the price of a nice home to stay at DVC for only a month or so a year.
