Thanks! The tulip picture is one of my favorite from the whole trip so far, I just wish I was better at using Photoshop so I could get rid of that stinking car in the upper corner. I'd love to make it a large print to hang in my computer room. I tried to do it yesterday, but it looked all kinds of screwy! :sad2:

:rotfl: It was tough---knowing that I had to go walk around for 8 hours right after eating may have had something to do with it though. :thumbsup2

Awesome shots Ann. I believe this building...

is the arlington masonic temple. I don't know much about it but we have parked at that metro station many times when heading into DC. and I always thought that building was pretty cool. Can't wait to see more

You are correct it is a Masonic Temple in Alexandria.

Hey, glad to see you got some up! Very nice!

Love the hot sauce shot. :scared1:

BTW, I have a big box of toothpicks to keep your eyes open while you're doing these if you want to borrow some. :rotfl2:

I knew all of that time I spent being a pain in the butt on your photo trip report was going to come back and bite me big time!! ;)

I'm thinking I will aim for another 25 tonight. I'm trying to do some more "stuff" to them than usual---which, unfortunately, makes this a much slower process. :headache:

Thanks for the offer of the toothpicks, I've actually found that I prefer scotch taping my eyelashes to my lids though. :rotfl:

Nice Ann! My favorite so far is The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, it has just the right feeling if that makes sense.

We had a hot sauce store like that here in Vegas and my BIL puts hot sauce on everything (still haven't forgiven him for putting it all over the Thanksgiving dinner I spent all day cooking almost two decades ago:mad:) so I bought him what was deemed the hottest there is for Christmas as a gag. Well, he opened it up and took a huge swig straight from the bottle and immediately started choking. He was sick for days!

Here's some inspiration.

Don't say I never gave you anything. :lmao:

I'm definitely inspired. I wanted to get another shot like this at the National Zoo, but the elephants weren't really in a great viewing area---so that didn't happen. I'll be making a trip to the Philly Zoo in a few weeks and the elephants are gone now (they lost their funding apparently)---so it won't happen there either. Oh well!

I'm definitely motivated to get these done. I have been looking into Blurb Books for an alternative to a photo album for our trip to Disney and would like to try them out ahead of time. If these pictures come out well enough, I may just order one!

Thanks! I agree, don't know how to describe it but I thought it felt a little solemn, even though in the background there were a bunch of loud kids screaming and running up and down the corridors. :rolleyes1

I can understand putting hot sauce on everything (I used to do that with A1 steaksauce)---but drinking it right from the bottle??? Gross! I almost bought a bottle even though I don't use hot sauce---just to keep on my shelf as a novelty item, but I'm making an effort at decluttering my house/life, so I opted not to. Now I kind of wish I had. :guilty:

Great job on the photos! Which lense are you using and how are you liking the 30mm? I'm jealous of the 30mm. You guys are going to get me in more trouble with my wife.:scared:

For the trip, I brought my 18-200, the Sigma 30, the 60mm macro and the Nifty Fifty. I only ended up using the 18-200 and the Sigma 30. I would have LOVED to take my macro lens out for a spin but the weather was SO WINDY this weekend it would have been pointless to lug it around.

I'm really liking the 30 so far. It came in handy in some of the museums this weekend where I saw a lot of other dSLR owners using their pop-up flashes when taking pictures of things in glass cases. I could be wrong, but I can only imagine those pictures didn't turn out so hot. :goodvibes It was definitely a good buy and a lens that I have been lusting over since I got my first dSLR a few months ago---so I'm glad to have it. :thumbsup2

It got me in trouble with DH juuuuuuust a little, but I think he is past the point of arguing about it and just realizes it'll make life so much easier to say yes and keep his real thoughts to himself.

I am going to try and make it to the Philly Zoo in a few weeks too. I took one of my machines to CT this past weekend to be fixed and have to go back and pick it up in a few. My plan is to once again come home by way of Philly. Its going to depend on how much of a load I have hauling TWO computerized engraving machines in my Rav4 :rotfl2: My son's PT is going pretty good and he should be able to do the zoo till then. We did about three hours of walking this past Sunday evening and he was hurtin' till we got back to his apartment.

I shot a wedding for friend in October and put together a book of their wedding pictures as their gift. I did it on Blurb and was really pleased with the quality and turn around time.

I really like that shot too. Very nice job! Since I lost my nephew 2 months ago in Afghanistan shots like that have a whole different feel and meaning for me. Your shot brought tears to my eyes.

I love all the colors in the hot sauce shot. Very nice.

And I have to add here I was wondering how long it was going to take for Pea-N-Me to start being your pain in the butt. I had fun reading the thread where you were nudging her to finish her WDW pics and I knew it was just a matter of time before it started here :lmao:

Isn't that how marriage is supposed to work anyway?

Nice shots, Ann. Keep 'em coming :thumbsup2

Can't wait for the December Trip Report.

Ahhhhhh the December trip report ... I think the entire disboards is going to be :surfweb: waiting for the WDW shots from Ann.

I knew I shouldn't have bugged Linda so much to get her photos done. Oh well, I'm sure after I return back from my trip I'm going to be the one needing motivation and annoying as it may be, I'm sure I'll be glad to be "motivated" by you both :rolleyes1 :headache:

Thank goodness I still have 8 months to go. ;)

These are some shots that were also taken on our first day there that I just processed last night. I'm not as happy with these but tried to get a little "creative" with some of the ones I thought were crappier to make sure I could still use them.

DH sitting on the steps overlooking the Potomac after walking into DC---and he even carried my tripod the whole trip for me!! :lovestruc

Hey, it's all in good fun. I didn't mind at all and there is no pressure whatsoever.

Pictures look great, I really love these two:
