i must confess that on previous cruises I wondered about the tips for the head server. All the device was great and I guess that has a lot to do with the head sever and their training/management of the server teams. I would tip the server teams extra but not the head server

Just got off the wonder and our head server was Vitor. He was all over it. My mother in law is in her late 70's. She struggles with walking very fast but felt hesitant to use a wheel chair. She didn t want to "impose" or make it difficult. Vitor noticed it and in a very effective way took care of the wheel chair every night. He made sure she was seated and even helped cut her steak one night. Yet he did it in a way that didn t embarrass her at all

He also did a cool magic trick turning one dollar bills into 5's. I told him my wife can turn 20 dollar bills into ones just as easy.

So for the first time we tipped the head server extra

Kudos to Vitor. FYI found out he has been at Disney for 2 years after 28 at Royal carribean

Our head server for the past several years on the Fantasy has been "Uncle" Ciao and he's always been exceptional for us. Last year he brought our one year old a couple of little stuffed toys and this year he gave him one of the Chewbacca collectible mugs along with a big special plate of fruit, cheese, or cheese sticks every night with the appetizers.

I looooove ciao as well? He was our first head waiter when we have an infant- so he helped with puréed foods. I've since been diagnosed celiac and have to eat gluten free and he's been amazing helping with that as well. And he remembers us from cruise to cruise which is nice :)

On our last Fantasy cruise we had the best head server ever. His name was Munir and he made my DD and myself feel like VIPs every night. One night I was telling him about the delicious brussel sprouts I had at Remy and he made sure I had brussel sprouts at every dinner after that. On CC, he took the time at the SB buffet to point out different items he thought we might like. I definitely tipped him extra because he really embodied the
"exceptional service" that DCL strives for.

Our first Head Server (don't remember his name) was on our cruise on the Dream. The last, our server got my steak order wrong. The Head Server fixed it very quickly and efficiently (the regular servers were very busy). The next cruise we went on, was on the Fantasy. That same Head Server was on the Fantasy and he remembered DS's name. I was very impressed.

Yes, he got extra tips and mention on the comment cards -- both cruises.

We had Vitor on our last Wonder cruse. I agree that he does a super job and we tipped him extra as well. If you get onto the Magic make sure you ask for Simone. He is the best head server I have ever seen and everyone on his team really enjoys working with him. He used to be on the Wonder and before that on the Dream.

Simone is the best I had. Had him a couple times.

This always amazes me -- considering the volume of people they see on a weekly basis. We had a server on one cruise and two years later found out he had become a head server. My daughter (9 the first time) had drawn him a picture because she had a huge crush on him and cried when we had to leave. Well on the cruise two years later we sought him out and the first words out of his mouth were "Hey there, I still have your drawing".........we were blown away. Don't forget, in two years a kid changes. She was tickled he remembered.
