Who will Be in FW over New Years? We're hoping to be there over New Years and just looking to see how many DisBoard people we may see there.

 that's 1! I know there are plenty more!

However, we pull out for home on the 2nd after a fun-filled 10 days!

We will be checking in Dec 26 and out on January 7. We always request and stay in the 1400 loop. We'll have our SunnyBrook Camper and a Blue with tan on the bottom F250. Stop by and say hi! :earsboy:

We're going to miss New Years at FW but we are checking in on the 6th of January for 11 relaxing days. Can't wait!!!!

We'll be at the cabins 1/14 -- 1/21. It would be totally groovy to put some faces to the screen-names -- maybe take a semi-illegal hike along the swamp trail or sumpin' else. :teeth:

If you check with Ms Sundee at the bike barn and the campfire she will know where everyone is at.

In the past there was discussion of a symbol to place on your campsite or cabin that designated you as a "dis" person. I believe a lime green mickey ears form the Home depot paint sample was used.
Maybe we should decide as a group if that should continue or use something else ?

1150 miles is a long way from Fort Wilderness, I sure hope the people that got my ressies are enjoying themselves :sad1:

We check in on the 5th. There will be 20 of us all together. We are getting 5
cabins. Can't wait! :sunny: :sunny:

Wait! Forgot to mention that we will be in our fifth wheel from Dec 26 to Jan 02, but going back Jan 11 to Jan 16 for the "annual all girls weekend"! We will be staying in the cabins on the second go around.. If interested in meeting, see Ms. Sundee, we can't hide from her, she will know where we are both trips (it's mandatory, I feed her) :teeth: .

Site 849, look for the snowglobe! We got in yesterday, had some really helpful neighbors help us get the RV backed into the site. Wow, there are some really impressive decorations down here!!!

How was the drive down Musicmama ?

I recall you were stressing over that, glad to hear you are safe and snug at the Happiest place in the world !

So, it was 2 12-hour days (when AAA told me it would be less than 9 hours each day). But we got here!!!! And we've gone so much that it's taken me this long to reply. This is a great place, I just know we'll be back.

Haven't made the campfire yet - you know the line about the road to a hot place and good intentions... Will be driving down to West Palm Beach tomorrow - my niece who was supposed to come visit was in an auto accident 2 weeks ago and can't sit that long for the drive here, so we're going to her. Good thing I rented a car.

Only 24 hrs ?? We spend about 22-24 hrs actually driving. We usually go 60-65 with the trailer.
Last year I made it back in 22 1/2 hrs (with a 1 1/2 hr dinner stop at a GA Cracker barell) In DW's Trailblazer. I cant sleep in Hotels on the road (one of the reasons we bought the Travel trailer) so I just drove it straight. I used to do it that way regularly but DW frowns on it now that we are "middle aged"
Have fun and be sure and say "howdy" for us.
Tell the "other" Carters "hey"

The other Carter's are now home (again) but for only 9 days. We, just the girls, will be heading out again next Wednesday for 5 nights at the cabin. I rode through the 800 loop a few times, but never caught Musicmamma out and about. I also tried to remember what Stillh20's new camper was, thought it was a Newell, saw one of them in the 1800 loop, but never saw a human. We asked for the 1700 loop but ended up in 1938 which was a tight squeeze for a 40 foot fifth wheel. We had a wonderful trip, but the night before we left home (Christmas night) we had all 4 of the kids new electric scooters in the back of my suburban and the golf cart on the trailer and someone decided to break into my car and steal all four scooters. We had to wait for police to come fingerprint the car and got a late start. We also spent a lot of time in Fl trying to find replacements but no luck. They start school again tomorrow so I will go talk to the guy at Toys R Us to see if he can call when they receive new ones. I am kind of hard to forget, he only put 5 scooters together for me and now knows me by name.

That really stinks about the scooters, sorry to hear that.
Did you go to the movie on the 28th ?

I need info, it was tough staying home.

I amn sure it wasnt the same at WDW without us. :teeth:

MRSGUS06 looked for you in 1700 did not see you, talked to a nice family in 1700 they had a Pom in a wagoon with lights on it! *(Dog's not spoiled)* We were in 700 loop with a red Ford Lightning in front. Sorry we miss you but it was a Fast trip in an out about 24 hours just for New Years.

Sorry we missed you mrsgus06, and really sorry to hear about your "grinch". Hope you're able to get replacements. We had a great stay, but since DH and DD were slugs in the morning, spent more nights out than I planned trying to catch up. We never made the campfire. :guilty: However, our last night (1/1) Marianne and I went over to MK to try and use up our dining plan credits and get baked stuff for the looong ride home. (I am posting from I-95 right now) We took the last boat for the Contemporary - and did we luck out - got a beautiful view of Holiday Wishes AND the light parade as we pulled out just after Wishes began. What a great experience! DH was tired and wanted to sleep before our drive, so we left him at the camper. Was he ever sorry!

It was a wonderful 10 days but I'm ready to be home. Took over an hour to checkout yesterday morning and then another hour to return the rental car (long line, 1 rep). I have a res for Christmas 06 but not sure if we'll actually keep it - maybe I'll just give it to bigdisneydaddy. Marianne wants to be home for a Christmas without lines and crowds. Instead, depending on DH's teaching schedule, we might make it down for the end of the summer. We'll have to see. I know we'll skip the dining plan next time -- great way to try places we haven't been (and we went to lots of them) but WAAY too much food. I'll post a report over on the Trips board in a few days.

Thanks to all who gave us such good advice. It helped a lot.

Pat
