Watching a show on Saddam on Discovery Channel. I think there are 2 more hours to go yet. What an evil individual!! So good he is no longer in power.

My husband is watching that same show. His people lived in constant fear.

I saw it, too. Some parts made my stomach turn.

When they showed footage from Tikrit, it was the worst of all. That guy stepping forward and bragging about executing people and throwing them in those mass graves. That gave me chills.

I had to STOP watching!! I can't believe a "human" being could be that evil..

Are we 100% sure he's not the devil ????????

It makes you wonder how there could still be people there supporting him. They must be just as evil.

You know, Carl, I wondered the same thing. Was the Tikrit loyalty all about home grown pride? In the special last night, it was mentioned that while Hussein butchered citizens in other parts of Iraq, he lavished a great deal of wealth and political perks on his home town. In that light, it made a little more sense. I understand that their civic pride does play a part, but they also prospered from his favoritism.
