"He was looking for the Shell Station!!" *UPDATED 04/24 -PLAZA AND OHANA*COMPLETE!*

Day 3

Today was Animal Kingdom day! I used to really hate Animal Kingdom until I discovered that it’s actually a really relaxing park with the BEST music. Plus it has one of the best quick services in WDW – Flame Tree BBQ!

Sam grabbed an Everything Bagel from the All Star Sports Food Court. I’m not really sure what I had, don’t seem to have a picture of it!
Sam claims these are the best bagels ever.

And then off we went to Animal Kingdom! We did a few rides, I rode Dinosaur for the first time which was a HUGE deal for me. It wasn’t that bad actually...

We reached Flame Tree Barbeque. It’s a little bit expensive for a quick service so we decided to split a meal since we were paying OOP.

We got the ribs with a side of beans and a side of coleslaw.

P1130964.jpg

The ribs were gorgeous. Sam had the coleslaw. I tried it but I didn’t really like the taste, I think it was too sweet or watery? Anyway, he loved it. I had the beans which I love, he didn’t like them so much when he tried them.

This was a great meal to share, we both had good sized portions.

Later that afternoon, we fancied a snack. I’d read so much on DIS about the White Chocolate Elephant Cupcake. We arrived at Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery and I knew that’s the one I had to try. I seriously need to go back and try all the other cupcakes though!

Here is the White Chocolate Elephant Cupcake:

And inside....

P1130986.jpg

WOW!! This was the BEST cupcake we have ever had! We were so sad when it was gone! The only thing that was disappointing was the elephant chocolate lolly that was stuck in the top. It didn’t taste very good. But I didn’t care because this cupcake is to die for!

We left AK and went back to All Star Sports for a rest. On the way back to the room, we stopped at the pool bar.

P1140004.jpg

Sam got a Pina Colava

P1140005.jpg

He loved it. It was the perfect treat for a hot day.

Next up.. Raglan Road

We didnt really enjoy our fish last visit to UK but the chips were to die for.

I have got to have one of those elephant cupcakes :lovestruc

Thanks for sharing your review... I'm craving a good WDW hamburger about now so I'm following your review to see all that you tried.

Oh, and that white choc elephant cup cake looks delish!

You're welcome! I loved your review last year!!

Part 2 – Raglan Road

This was totally unplanned. We had actually gone to DTD to go to the Cookes of Dublin. We LOVE it there because they sell the Chicken and Field Mushroom pie. This is the best pie I have ever ever had, and we love to sit outside and people watch while we eat.

So, we arrived at the Cookes of Dublin and were sad to hear that it would take them 45 minutes to cook the pies, as they had none ready. So we decided to leave it and go next door to Raglan Road instead.

Don’t get me wrong, we love Raglan Road too!

Our meal began with the Irish soda bread and a Guiness Reduction.

I am obsessed with this stuff! I can’t stand Guiness but I love this! Really sweet and delicious.

P1140018.jpg

P1140015.jpg

We both had the Pie in The Sky. This is the most similar meal to the Chicken and Field Mushroom pie from Cookes of Dublin. I think the only difference may be that only the top of the pie is covered with pastry, rather than the entire pie. We asked for it with chips instead of salad.

P1140022.jpg

Inside:

P1140025.jpg

This pie is so good!! It has chicken, mushrooms, leek, onions, cheese and a creamy sauce.

We didn’t get a dessert, but I can definitely recommend the Dunbrody Kiss – it’s really good if you’re a chocolate fan.

Up next, Day 4 – Breakfast at All Star Sport Food Court and Lunch at Earl of Sandwich.

I love reading this review, even though i was eating the food it reminds me what i had! ha :D

The pie in the sky looks pretty good. I need a recommendation for RR, because I do NOT like the It's Not Bleedin' Chowder. Is that sauce really watery? The chowder was disappointingly watery.

Thanks for keeping those great reviews coming!

Day 4

Breakfast at All Star Sport Food Court

We got our usual – An Everything Bagel and a Cherry Danish.

P1140103.jpg

The Cherry Danish was so delicious, I always stayed away from them in the past because I thought the cherry would be too strong but it was very nice and sweet.

We went to Downtown Disney for a browse and decided to have lunch at Earl of Sandwich. I have only ever bought one type of sandwich from here, I really need to branch out and get something different! Anyway, here it is!

Cannonballs! Meatballs, Mozzarella & Parmesan & Marinara Sauce.

P1140108.jpg

Sam got the Hawaiian BBQ - Grilled Chicken, Roasted Ham, Aged Swiss, Fresh Pineapple & Hawaiian BBQ Sauce

P1140106.jpg

My sandwich was as delicious as always. I always use the HP sauce that is provided and it makes the sandwich a little spicier – mmmm!!

Sam enjoyed his sandwich, the BBQ sauce is lovely – however to this day he regrets getting it because he could’ve got the Holiday Sandwich!

After Earl of Sandwich, we had planned to walk to Ghiridellis to get a little dessert, but we walked in and walked back out again, we were too full. We then walked all the way to Little Lake Bryan to check out our old apartments!

Up next.... Whispering Canyon Cafe

Dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe

This is where I had my 22nd birthday, and Sam made me go all around the restaurant on one of those wooden horses! So this place holds a great memory for us. In fact, one time we actually ate here twice in a row! We love the food and all of the antics!

Today was no different, we were so excited to be here! We were sat at a table near the front of the restaurant which was cool because a lot of the time we are put in the Library – the quiet separate area at the back.

I knew what drink I wanted – a LARGE diet coke!!

P1140154.jpg

That’s my diet coke next to Sam’s milkshake. Huge!! I didn’t drink all of it but I gave it a pretty good go!!

I think Sam’s milkshake was vanilla?

P1140155.jpg

We both ordered the Skillet. I couldn’t imagine going to Whispering Canyon and ordering something different! It starts off with the BEST salad in the whole of WDW.

P1140156.jpg

The salad has an apple vinaigrette. It is the best dressing I have ever tasted! We tried making this dressing at home and it turned out good!

There is also the corn bread:

P1140157.jpg

I didn’t have any of this, didn’t want to fill up on bread today!

Coleslaw

P1140158.jpg

Sam’s second milkshake – chocolate I think.

P1140159.jpg

The Skillet! Ribs, pulled pork, corn on the cob, cowboy beans, mashed potato, chicken

P1140160.jpg

My plate:

P1140161.jpg

Our server kept trying to refill our skillet, he said we hardly ate anything! I think we did! We definitely couldn’t eat dessert.

Our meal here was as perfect as ever, we had great service and love everything about this restaurant.

Up next.. Day 5 – My birthday! Sunshine Seasons, F&W, and Kona Cafe.

Just caught up with your wonderful reviews :goodvibes

So you say you love Disney burgers but where is your absolute fave burger on property?

I only eat veggie burgers but DH loves Beaches and Cream

WCC is definitely my favorite one-credit meal at WDW!! It's soooo good! Like you, I can't imagine ordering anything but the skillet!! My mouth is watering looking at those mashed potatoes-- it's only 10:40 here! :rotfl: Great review!!

I'd have to agree with your DH, Beaches and Cream have the juiciest, softest burgers I've had on WDW property. Thanks for reading!!

That cupcake was amazing.

Lets share another one again soon?

Day 5 - My Birthday!

Today was my 25th birthday!! I was so so excited!! We got up at All Star Sports, Sam gave me his present – a ticket to MNSSHP for that evening. I knew that’s what my present was, since I had to prepare a costume!
Since we knew that we were already spending the evening in Magic Kingdom, we decided we would go to Epcot during the day until my birthday lunch ADR at Kona Cafe.

Sam was surprising me with a night in a different resort that evening, and I had no idea which one it was... only that it was a Magic Kingdom resort!!

So off we went to Epcot. We had breakfast in Sunshine Seasons, one of my all time favourite quick service locations! I love the variety of food, and I love the theming!!

Sam got a breakfast sandwich, which was filled with bacon, egg and cheese. Also it was served with breakfast potatoes – yummy!

P1140208.jpg

For some reason I took two photos of it.

P1140209.jpg

Definitely a great choice for a hearty breakfast. I think I may have stolen a couple of the breakfast potatoes, we don’t have those in the UK and they are delicious.

I had an Apple Danish. You know I love my Danish! :) I was excited because I hadn’t seen an apple one anywhere else yet. It was just as good as I’d hoped. Really sticky and sweet. Mmmm!

P1140211.jpg

After that, we wandered around for a little while before the World Showcase began opening. We got ourselves a little Food and Wine Passport each to prepare ourselves for the F&W day. Although that wasn’t today, we did decide to get one little treat.

Which was this lovely little thing!!!

P1140220.jpg

Warm Chocolate Lava Cake with Baileys Ganache from the Ireland Booth.

I don’t like any kind of alcohol and so I didn’t really like the taste of the Baileys, but other than that this little cake was divine. It was really windy that day and I remember being afraid it was going to blow away! It was very chocolatey and rich, but I liked that.

You may be wondering why I named the dining review “He was looking for the Shell Station!!”
Well, on this particular day, we were walked into World Showcase when we spotted some sort of commotion going on. There was a crowd of guests, a bunch of Segway tour people, and a Disney security guard sort of bending over something on the ground. As we got closer, we realised.. it was a tortoise?!

turtle1.jpg

We stood around with the other guests and found it funny that this little tortoise was being guarded by Disney security. After about 10 minutes of waiting around, the Disney security guard decided to take matters into his own hands and picked up the tortoise to take it safely to the grass. It was at this point a man shouted out “He was looking for the Shell Station!!!!”.

turtle2.jpg

Needless to say it went down as one of our most memorable quotes of the trip.

We spent about 2 more hours in Epcot before heading over to the Polynesian where we were going to Kona Cafe – one of our favourites. This was also where Sam was going to tell me where we were staying that night!
