HDDR: Cat 3 on 'best' night, or Cat 2 on less preferred night?

I want to switch my HDDR night. The night I really want to go, only Cat 3 is available. We are on DxDP, so Cat 1 is out (and the 9:30 show is too late for the kid). I can get Cat 2 on a different night, but not my first choice. Would we enjoy it alot more if we're in Cat 2 seats??

So WWYD? Take the Cat 3 on the night you really want to go or Cat 2 on the 2nd choice of nights?

TIA!

We had a similar dilemma. We could get cat 2 on a night that my DH would not yet be there or cat 3 on a night when the whole family would be on vacation. (DH loves HDDR.) In the past, we've only ever had Cat 1, as even on the DDP, we had paid OOP for this meal.

In the end, we decided to do Cat. 3 on the night that we could all see it together. I can let you know how it worked out for us when we return. On the one hand, the kids are looking forward to eating upstairs. OTOH, we've been spoiled by our great seats in the past.

I would go with Cat 3 on the night that works best for you. I think my girlfriend and I are two of the few people who actually like Cat. 3 seating. Cat. 2 is nice if your lucky enough to sit up in the balcony, but there is the chance that you end up on the floor all the way in the back.

I agree with PP. Cat 3 is better than Cat 2 downstairs. And, while Cat 2 give you "center" seating on the balcony, the side Cat 3 seating is closer, so easier to see. So, that's a toss up which is better (though Cat 2 seating you the table faces the stage, Cat 3 you sit between the table and the stage, so when you watch the show, you have your back to the table, which I didn't particularly care for).

But, I would rather have the better day with my overall plan and take cat 3.

Go with cat 3. We actually prefer it to cat 2. Up on the balcony you have a closer seat to the stage in cat 3 and the lower level cat 2 seats are all the way in the back. This is a small theater and there are really no bad seats in the whole place. Also the characters go everywhere and interact with the audience. When we booked the last time we actually requested a cat 3 over 2 due to the closer proximity to the stage.

Have a great time!
