Honestly, I think it will be very confusing for those of us that have read the books if the show plot differs very much. I mean really, what can they do with the on-going characters who's stories are already entrenched book-to-book? Won't that seriously mess with continuity?I don't like that. I love the books and will be irked to see them stray. There are some characters the show could eliminate because, as we know, our friend (GM), likes to ramble sometimes and add character after character. Otherwise, I wish the show would follow closely to the books.
True. Wish GM would get the next book out.
It does seem like they are going to differ a lot as last night strayed a bit from what I recall (maybe I need to go back and re-read some). Uggghhh! Hate to say it but I honestly think GM will pass before he finishes writing the series.Honestly, I think it will be very confusing for those of us that have read the books if the show plot differs very much. I just googled it again tonight and the publisher has officially declared that there will not be a new volume published in 2015. They haven't made any promises about a release date in 2016 either. There will be (apparently) an anthology of short stories published in one volume that is supposed to be a "prequel" to the first book. These stories have existed for some time but I've never sought them out. I'll likely read them if they're released together sometime soon.
It could happen. One can only hope somebody is "grooming a successor" just in case like Robert Jordan's wife did with Brandon Sanderson so the Wheel of Time epic could be concluded. It does seem like they are going to differ a lot as last night strayed a bit from what I recall (maybe I need to go back and re-read some). I heard he has given the summary to the writers of the show so they can continue the show. Not sure if that's true.It could happen. One can only hope somebody is "grooming a successor" just in case like Robert Jordan's wife did with Brandon Sanderson so the Wheel of Time epic could be concluded.
Another book reader/reluctant watcher.
I understand the necessity to take another direction, but at the expense of the personality of the characters. Martin created such rich and complex characters and the show makes them so one dimensional.
Locations were beautiful in last night's episode, but not loving this season so far.
Last night...liked the scene with Cersei and Margaery but the new queen should tread carefully as Cersei is a tough cookie to contend with. She will soon snap out of the fog she's been in and there will be hell to pay for the new queen. The Tommen and Margaery bed scene was yucky. Was creepy to realize he was like 8 in the books. Gross. Also interested, even though it's a big change from the books, to see what happens with Sansa. Very grossed out that she has to marry that sicko, Ramsey. I HOPE HOPE HOPE he doesn't torture her. I hope Little Finger gets what he deserves, that creepy jerk! Good episode last night!
I haven't read the books so I could be WAY off, but I think Sansa and Ramsey could make a good duo! He's psycho and she has this huge vendetta...It could work in their favor.Yep. Yep. Yep. He is, and I haven't gotten to that scene in the books yet (if its in there) but I'm glad that they made him older in the show. He was originally played by another actor in the first few seasons who was around the proper age in the books.
I'm worried for Sansa. I just started to like her this past season and she's put with the next best character to hate after Joffrey. Auuugh.
The show is finally picking up. I'm super excited for next weeks episode. Yay!
I think I'm the only one who loves Ramsey! He cracks me up.
Still love me some Jon Snow. I need him to move to a summer location so he's a little less covered up![]()
