HBO Max has been renamed...

I think they want to get away from people thinking it's just like having HBO. This is Warner Bros. Discovery's home for all of their content. They should probably have called it "WB Max" so that people might associate the brand more. Really, that's the same problem HBO had - who knows that Warner owns HBO?

What a dumb decision! HBOMax to Max ? Why? Totally unnecessary. What if Cinemax also decides to rebrand as Max......

Right, and what scares me is when the lawyers get involved like Monster Energy who is trying to sue a lot of other companies that have the word "Monster" or "Monsters" in them right now (yet they're not suing Disney...hmm, wonder why? :) )

I saw it yesterday when they announced the new Harry Potter series, and I had to think: they mean Hbo Max, right?

The streaming services really should have the name of their most well known studio brand in the name. That's why CBS All Access became Paramount Plus. At least Max is a better name than Peacock!

We need to have it all settled:

Disney Plus: Disney, Pixar, Lucasfilm, Marvel, NatGeo, 20th Centruy, ABC
Paramount Plus: Paramount, Nickelodeon, MTV, CBS
WB Max: Warner Bros., New Line, DC Comics, Discovery Networks, Turner Networks, HBO
Universal <insert catchy one syllable word>: Universal, DreamWorks, Illumination, NBC

No idea how their marketing department could come up with such a vague name. Unless you follow them closely, you would likely have NO idea what Max even is. Seems like a terrible choice for a product name. Reminds me somewhat of YouTube TV which I thought was just a way to watch some movie on the YouTube website. Had no idea it is a full-service TV offering like most cable options.

This could be their spokes "person":

That's what I want to know. I get access through paying for HBO on cable. Will I still have access? Inquiring minds what to know.

I do not believe that would change. It's all still under the same parent company. It's just a new name.
