This deserves its own thread for those who did not want to read my long reviews from our 9/28-10-5 dining experiences.

This was a seriously awesome dessert, almost better than you know what. (Am I being too racy here?)

We had this on 10/3--it was just put on the menu that day according to our server. If you love chocolate, hazelnut, and/or Godiva chocolates, do not miss this! It was like a big Godiva--but better! Intense chocolate and hazelnut without being sickeningly sweet or too heavy. Just the right note of crunchy. The hazelnut ice cream that accompanied it was less sweet and provided a good balance. Plate was drizzled with excellent warm chocolate--I'm thinking Valhrona. I'm thinking I need another one right now!

Ohhhh! That sounds so good! I absolutely love anything hazelnut! Add chocoalte and I'm in heaven! For my wedding a few years ago, I had a hazelnut wedding cake!

I have to get to California Grill sooner or later - everything sounds so good!

Do you need a PS to get one of these?? I would love to drop by and grab one after the park or something... it sounds wonderful!!!

Mmmm..that is almost making me drool. I'm gonna have to go eat some nutella.;)

Anyone else have one of these lately? I wonder if you can get one to go?? It sounds wonderful!!!!!! I love hazelnut and godiva!
Please someone let me know what they think?? thanks!!

Oh my, that sounds soooooo good. I guess I will have to add Cal Grill to my list for our upcoming trip. Maybe we will do a fast, reasonable priced dinner and sit in the lounge and get flatbreads and this wonderful sounding dessert while watching MK fireworks! Too many wonderful restaurants, not enough time for each trip! :(

Can you go to this restaurant for dessert only?
This sounds absolutely wonderful!

Hi, I just talked to the California Grill, and they said I could come to the bar and order dessert or anything else!!! It cost $9.25, so I hope it is big!!! I can't wait!! It sounds so good!!! Anyone else had it???

barbeml- Is it a standard slice of cake served with ice cream? Or is it a soufle type served in a dish like the other desert they have? Is it served warm or chilled? Is the chocolate and hazelnut combined or are they in layers? With Frosting?

Please share all the details. I'm a HUGE chocoholic and live for dessert.

Thanks.

We ordered this dessert to-go after a wonderful dinner on 10/13. Our daughter who chose not to join us wanted to try it. It is neither cake nor souffle and it's not big at all...but it is so rich! It's a pyramid with maybe a 2x2 inch base. The consistency and taste reminded me of home-made fudge with a hazelnut flavoring. It was very good but so rich...did I say that already? My DH asked for vanilla ice cream instead of the hazelnut because that part of the dessert went to our son who's a vanilla ice cream fan.

2X2 base, that seems small, was it worth the money?? It sounds good!!

Tinkrbell--it is not a cake or a souffle--it is like a really big chocolate with a ganache texture--dense, but not too dense. It was room temp as I recall, and of course the ice cream was cold! It is so rich and satisfying that Hubby and I were very content to share one. The whole thing is flavored with hazelnut and there are crunchy bits in it. It is molded and solid, not layered. Was it really $9.25? I don't remember it being that much, but worth it even at that price. I have never had anything quite like it. I think you would love it, Tinkrbell!

Thanks for the detailed reply! I'm always interested in chocolate deserts and NEED every detail. This is one stop we won't miss on our next trip.

If only it weren't so long away......Another Year away :(.
