For anyone that doesn't know the story......

Haze was dipped with Hartz flea dipped and suffered a horrific reaction. All of his hair fell out and his kidneys shut down. The vet recommended I put him to sleep. Well, stubborn me wanted to wait it out and he made a miraculous recovery!!! His kidneys are now functioning at 80%. :goodvibes

Here are some pics from tonight! :cloud9:

Haze is a cutie! Thanks for sharing.. Glad to hear he is doing better

Yea Haze! :sunny: Glad to hear he's doing well.

80% that's fantastic!!! It's amazing what a little hope and good medical care can achieve. Also, glad to read on the other thread that you got some of your money back. Welcome home, Haze! Here's to 8 more fabulous lives!!!! :drinking:

I am glad Haze is feeling better. He is a beautiful boy with an elegant face. I remember your last thread--I know he means the world to you.

Funny thing is....he looks like he has a lot of hair there...trust me...he doesn't. I'll update this thread when his hair is FULLY grown in.....he looks like he is 25lbs. with all his hair! :teeth:

Aw....he looks like such a sweetie! Thanks for the update, I have wondered how he is doing. How did your surviving cats handle losing Myst (I hope I am recalling her name correctly)? I know they often get out of sorts when they grieve. And the kidney function, will it continue to improve or will it just be ok at 80%?

So glad to hear he is doing well!

It has been the saddest thing Wendy. :guilty: Haze and Casper sit at the glass bay doors and caterwaul. They never did this before Myst died...all I can think is they think she must be outside and they are calling to her. Haze, Myst and Casper all grew up together as kittens.

One neat thing is..Casper and Haze absolutely LOVE each other now...they "groom" each other regularly and they used to not do that. :)

The vet told me that 80% function was phenomenal! She said that most 100% healthy kitties don't have such great function! :goodvibes

:goodvibes I'm glad to hear that Haze is making such a good recovery!

I'm sorry to hear that he and Casper are missing Myst. Our cats went through that in Jan when we lost Rascal. It's so sad.

OMG, that is so sad. I think one of the hardest thing about having animals is that you can't explain things like this to them, you just have to sait back and wait for them to figure it out...oh man, that has to be really tough to see.

Awww, that is so sweet!

Wow, that is surprising! Sheesh, he must have had some tough kidneys to be able to bounce back like that!

haze is looking good. glad hes making a recovery. long haired kittys are just special.

So glad to hear he is doing well. I know how awful it is to do something that you think is good for your pet and having it turn out to be a disaster!

:goodvibes Great news! I will drink to kitty health!

Glad your beautiful cat is doing so great.

Here is something that might make you laugh. My dgd (6) was sitting here with me when I read your post and she wanted to know if she can get a night light kitty too. She saw the cord going to the wall (thought it was coming out of the cat) and with the cat's eyes she thought it was a light. I laughed so hard that I cried.
:rotfl2:

Wonderful, wonderful news. How far he's come in just a few months--esp. when you consider where he started after that horrible incident. It just goes to show you what loving care will do for them. Great job, TM2.

Thanks for the update and pictures. He is so beautiful.
