Hello. I was thinking of doing the 7pm hayride on Thanksgiving (or that weekend) hoping we would be going by the campsites and that many would have their Christmas lights and displays up. I don't want to rent golfcarts as we would need 2 for our family, and couldn't think of another way we could see these campers lights I've been hearing about for years. Does the hayride seem like a good way to see this, and would many people have Christmas lights up Thanksgiving weekend? What time should we arrive for the hayride to make sure we get on? Thanks so much!

bumping....no one knows if the campers have their Christmas lights up TG weekend????

Yes, they will have their Christmas lights on, on Thanksgiving, most people will even have them on before Thanksgiving, at least they did last year. As far as the Hay ride goes, I do not know about that. You will have to check into it. But, that would be a good suggestion for them to do. I know a lot of people do not rent golf carts.

going in December...what is the cost of the hayride and how many people can it hold?

We visited FW 2 years ago and was going to take a carriage ride; however they were booked the night we visited. The cost back then was $35...I see this year it is $60. Thinking maybe they hayride is a lil more in budget for a GG of 11 people :)

We have done the hayride many times. You will only go through a couple of loops so you may feel shortchanged by not looking at the other loops that have numerous decorations as well. Usually the first ride goes thru the 1400 loop in case folks want to get off at the campfire program and movie, then thru the 300 loop to head down by the lake. We've gone through the 400 loop as well on a couple of trips.

Folks will definitely have lights up by Thanksgiving. We saw lots of decorations when were there for Thanksgiving last year and we'll be there again this year. You may want to rent a cart for just one day to tour the campground. Another interesting place to drive by is the Creekside Meadow group camping area to see the TiPi's of the Native Americas who camp there each Thanksgiving.

Last year when we went, the cost was $8 for adults and $5 for Children.
