OK folks, we have some questions about the hayride and the trailrides that you can do at FW.. If anyone has done these, please give your honest opinions on the pros and cons. Ex. prices, times, and are they fun????? Thanks as always, Chip&Janet. PS, we have 2 girls ages 10&12. Will they enjoy it also?

The hayride is at 6:30 every evening in front of Pioneer Hall. It's first-come, first-served. The cost, last time I checked, was $6.00 per person. This may have changed....

The trail rides can be reserved ahead of time. The price just went up to $35 per person - and it lasts about 45 minutes.

The kids would love either one of them! :D

The hayrides are fun and very popular. They leave from Pioneer Hall every night at 6:30 and again at 9:00. They go on a one-hour trip through the campground. The cost is $6 for age 10 and over, $4 for kids under 10. Kids must be with an adult. They don't take reservations so you should be there about 45 minutes early.

The trail ride gets mixed reviews. Some love it, others find it a bit boring. It can be hot and dusty in the summer. The rides begin at 10:00 every day from the corral near the FW entrance. Each ride is a guided 45 minute tour through open areas near the campground. The cost (last year) is $21.70 plus tax per person. Reservations can be made up to 14 days in advance.

Also, for the younger kids there are pony rides at the petting farm. $2 per ride.

Have fun!

Just a slight correction - the price on the trail ride just went up to $35 per person a couple of weeks ago.
