Hawaii News

I bet it will require a lot of DVC points to stay there!!! Still would love to try it though. :thumbsup2

I am still figuring this means that DLC will be doing trips to hawaii from the west coast when the new ships are built. The land the new resort will sit on is located directly on a deep water port on the leeward side of the island. Quick stops in Mexico going to and from LA to Ohau would meet the international stop rule. this would make it a lot like old fashioned cruising, a couple days over on the boat, stay a few days on the island, a couple days back on the boat... disney has you locked up spending your money on their properties for an entire trip to hawaii. island tours departing from the resort to waikiki and north shore, or an inter island tour via the new inter island ferry service to maui or the big island.

this is a heck of a product that Disney is building.

i guess this is why DS was suddenly talking about how he'd like to see hawaii some day...
i was surprised, as he's so much not the hawaii type....
but he is the disney type, so now i understand..

he must have read about this on the jim hill site...

I am jazzed, too....but I kinda wish it would be on another island than Oahu...

Hawaii is our family's #1 vacation choice. So to combine Disney & Hawaii is pretty interesting...

We also dont go to Oahu, but the location for this resort will not be near Honolulu -- so it should feel like it's on another island.

very true, that far out on the leeward side of the island you might as well be in Fiji cause you are no where near anything. it is easy a 1/2 hour to the airport and an hour to waikiki even in light traffic.

I never understood the negative feedback Oahu gets. Outside of the City the island has so much to offer. I found it just as nice, quiet and breathtaking as anywhere else!

Yeah, Disney will want you to stay on there property, no venture to the other attractions or Waikiki beach.

I have been to the J.W. Marriot on this property years ago. It is a very nice area. The hotel had many lagoons and beautiful landscaping. It was a quiet area, not like waikiki. So excited for this hotel!!!!!
