Hawaii building - Polynesian ????

Has the Hawaii building been renovated now ? Last time I heard they had moved the concierge to Tahiti. I have just upgraded us from POFQ to Polynesian GV Concierge.

The renovations to Hawaii were completed mid October of last year; I understand that they are renovating the quiet pool right now and that GV rooms in Hawaii do look out over the construction. Not sure when the pool renovation is scheduled to be completed (I think someone in another thread mentioned the beginning of May). Have you seen Tikiman's website? GREAT resource for Polynesian planning!

We stayed in Hawaii in November & January. The work being done wasn't a complete renovation as they've done with some of the other longhouses. Melissa at the concierge desk said they're not due for a "soft" renovation (decor and such) for a couple of years. They were upgrading plumbing, electrical, etc., so about the only change you might notice is the ceiling color in both the concierge office & the lounge. We were hoping for the twin sinks they have in some other buildings, but I'll still take concierge every time!

Wallpaper is gone in the rooms and hallways but not in bathrooms, new carpeting I believe, automatic door at the east end of the building...nice with a stroller or wheelchair, new thermostats and fans in the bathrooms....no more fog after showering!

We were there in Nov. too and will be back in a month and can't wait!

I just got back,we stayed in Tahiti and they gave us a notice in our rooms on Monday 2/9 about the pool refurbishment.

"In order for Disney's Polynesian Resort to continue to flourish as a magical destination, it is necessary for us to make enhancements from time to time. Our Engineering Diviaion has alerted us that the pool located adjacent to the Tonkelau guest building will be closed to guests during and extended refurbishment effort that they will be conducting. We anticipate all work to this pool to be completed by mid - April of this year"

there was more, but that was the basic info. There is a 10 ft (?) high brown (nicely painted) wall around the pool and the 2 buildings they are rennovating. Noise from the work was really loud one afternoon when we walked by about 2:30.
