The last thing I need to book is my Hawaii accommodation but I am getting so confused and unsure of where to stay. I will be on Oahu, so if anyone has any suggestions or recommendations they would be greatly appreciated.

Aulani?

If you want something on Waikiki Beach, Outrigger Reef on the Beach is great and often has some good special. Moana Surfrider is a bit more expensive but also fantastic.

In recent years (last 15) we have stayed at the Moana Surfrider and it's fantastic. We always book tower wing though (not diamond tower or the historical wing as the walls are thin).

But in years gone by I've stayed at Royal Hawaiian, Sheraton Waikiki and Outrigger Reef. All were great (but it's been years since staying at those). Love the Moana Surfrider.

We stayed at Aston Waikiki Beach Tower it was fantastic for our family. Our family consists of 2 adults and 4 children. The apartment we rented had 3 bedrooms, a kitchen and a washer and dryer. It was very centrally located and across from the beach.

We stayed at Outrigger Reef 3 years ago and loved it. We stayed in a 1BR Oceanview and it was huge. I had the King size bed all to myself and my DD had the queen pull out sofa bed (DH didn't come that trip). 2 lanai, nice restaurants - it was perfect for us!

Hilton Hawaiin Village is awesome, Walking distance to the Ala Moana Shopping centre, best pools in Hawaii, has its own beach, also a nice walk to Cheesecake factory and other shopping. have stayed there 3 times, cannot fault it, has been recently renovated i believe. heaps of options in terms of room sizes etc. even has its own penguins and macauws on site.

If it is in your budget and if you are traveling with kids (not teenagers), I'd highly recommend staying at Aulani, I loved it so much I bought into DVC whilst we were last there and am returning soon! Waikiki is so busy, if you want to stay in that area and are traveling with children the Hilton Hawaiian Village looked nice. Enjoy your trip :)

quick question meemoo, how much did you pay per point for aulani??? did you get the special offer they had on at the beginning of the year???
as we say on the anzac dis..never pay full price for anything:thumbsup2

Ummm, I don't remember the exact deal but we did get some discount on points, whatever they offered at the time. We bought Nov 2012...all in all, good deal I say, I've spent a heap on my love of staying in Disney hotels, and now with the kids I would have continued to do so, pays for itself really in my case! And great that I nabbed it whilst the $$ was strong :)

Thanks for all the responses I will check them all out. I am traveling solo so no restrictions on kids. I only have 3 days and have no plans for those days as of yet so I think being more central is where I will choose.

Stayed in both of these places on our last Hawaii trip. Love the Ali'i Tower at the Hilton. Loved Aulani. Kids want to go every year. Can highly recommend both.
