Having second thoughts???

We have booked a Poly clv for Dec 2008. I had originally thought we would stay at the WL but were unable to get a room at the time I booked. It looks like there is one available now. So I can't decide if I want to change it. We are a family of 6 (1 under 3 for our next trip) so last time we can stay in 1 room at the Poly. Will I regret not staying at the WL during the holiday season or will the wonderful view/fireworks/monorail etc out weigh that?

Thanks

I would stick with the Poly. The rooms are a lot smaller at WL; you'll be tripping over each other. You can always visit WL; make an ADR for WCC or AP, then you can see all the decorations. If you get a first floor room at the Poly you'll have a patio, which is great if the little ones are asleep. The view of the MK is incredible, as well as the fireworks.

With six in one room, I'd stick with the Poly.

WL is AWESOME to look at during Christmastime, but you don't have to be staying there to appreciate the decorations. As the previous poster mentioned, go visit the resort during your trip and take in the decorations that way.

An interesting way to get to WL from the Poly is to hop on the monorail and get off at CR. Go to CR's boat ramp and catch the boat that runs between CR-WL-FW.

Thanks for the replys. We would stay in a deluxe room at the WL which would actually be bigger. I just don't know if we will make it back at Christmas time or not. There is no way we would be able to afford 2 rooms at the Poly I don't think so don't think that would be an option for us in the future.

Thanks again.

I had to chuckle because I just got off the phone from changing my reservations FROM the Wilderness Lodge (Villa's) to the Poly!! My trip is in 18 days (a christmas trip too).

I saw a thread about how if you love the woodsy, log cabin feel you will love the WL but DH and I both prefer something more beachy/exotic which was the only reason I changed our reservation. I am sure we would have loved the WL but the Poly and the monorail appealed to me more.

We still have reservations for a Sleigh Ride at the WL so we'll get to see the Lodge and the grounds.

Good luck making your decision. Lord knows I've changed my mind 1,000 times already!

Melissa, I just need to be able to afford to take my family of 6 to Disney World 1-2 times a year and then my problem would be solved. It would probably help if my husband liked to travel a bit more also.

I'd probably go with WL, just for the extra room and conceirge benefits. The deluxe rooms there look awesome! I would think 6 in a normal room, even with one being a baby and in the Poly's bigger rooms, would be tighter than I'd like.

WL deluxe room, or villas, is the way to go with a family of 6. We found the rooms at the Poly cramped with just 5. :)

We love the WL at Xmas, there is nothing like it. We stayed at the Poly last month and it was ok but I would not pick it over the WL for the holidays.

Ok now I am now more confused than ever. We will also be staying conceirge at the Poly also. Our kids will be 7,6,4, and 2 so I was hoping it wouldn't feel too cramped. One of my children is deathly afraid of fireworks so I thought maybe staying at the Poly would be a way for the rest of the kids to enjoy it. We have to leave the parks before they start. We did however stay at the WL July 2006 and absolutely loved it!! I would split the stay but we are already doing that with 2 days at the AKL.

The WL is great and it's gorgeous at the holidays, but if this is your one shot to stay Poly concierge do it!! It's wonderful, and you're right, it will be a good way for your kids to enjoy the fireworks without being in the park. You could always visit the WL for dinner or just a look around to see it decked out for Christmas. It's also so convenient to be on the monorail. Enjoy!
