Having purchases sent to your room . . .

I have a strange question, I guess. Our friends are arriving the day ahead of us and staying at a different resort. On the day we arrive, they are going to AK (which we are skipping this trip), and I need them to pick up one of those carved elephants from the store in Africa for my mom. Well, I had hoped they could just send it back to me at Coronado Springs, but can they do that without my room number? Then, when we do see them later in the week at one of the parks, I thought I would just get the slip from them to pick it up at the gift shop. So, will that work, and do I have to actually have the slip to pick it up?

We are only seeing them once or twice in the parks, so I hate for them to carry it around for us.

I don't believe they will send to the hotel without the room number. You might want to call and be sure. We've used it in the past, but never without being checked in.

They don't send them to your room ,now you pick them up in the resort lobby or store

I wonder if your friends could have it sent to their resort. When they see you, you could get the slip from them and then pick it up at their resort. Or they could pick it up at their gift shop and leave it at the front desk for you to pick up.

Disney leaves a message on your resort phone telling you your packages are in the gift shop. Upon arriving at the gift shop they ask for your name and room number and asked for my room key to check my name and room number. They did not ask for a receipt.

So I am thinking your friends would have to purchase the items and have them sent to their resort. You would have to retrieve them from your friends, or like another poster suggested maybe the front desk at their resort. It almost seems like it would be easier to just hop over AK to buy the items if you have the hop feature on you tickets.

Thanks, guys for the responses. I was afraid they would have to have our room number. We do not have a hopper pass, so we will not be going to AK. Nor do I really want to go over to their resort. I will figure something out.

You could just pay the shipping and have them ship it to your home. That saves all the carrying around.

Don't they have those elephants in the Animal Kingdom Lodge resort gift shop? If so, you could do a quick trip to the resort and buy it yourself there.

I did not even think of that. I have never visited AKL, so that might be nice. Does anyone know for sure if it is the same ones that are in AK? The ones I am talking about are hand carved and from Kenya. They have other animals, and I bought her those last year, so I would like them to be the same.

Shipping home might also be better.

It sure looked like they had a ton of those animal carvings in the gift shop when I was there - I'd be surprised if they weren't the same as in the park. I'd call the AKL before you leave and find out for sure. A quick bus trip there and you'd have it in no time!
