Hi everyone! There is so much great information on this site! It's wonderful!

Okay, so here's the scoop.....I had gastric bypass in March and my husband is having the Lapband next week. So we both will have dietary concerns when we visit Disney for the first time with our DS14 and DD11 in June.

I would really like to have my favorite foods on hand (high protein and it tastes good to me....I can't eat a lot of things now because my taste really changed). I like individually wrapped pieces of cheese with a triscuit and I really like yogurt. I will also need milk for myself and the family. I would like to have AT LEAST those things delivered to my room from a local grocery store.

Can anyone tell me how to go about doing this? I know it's been discussed on here before....I just can't remember!

Thank you in advance for any info you can give.

I would also love to hear from fellow RNY gastric bypass patients who have visited Disney!! What did you eat? :scratchin

Thanks!
Jen

Garden Grocer makes deliveries to WDW. Their website is:

http://gardengrocer.com/

If you are staying at a Deluxe or Moderate Resort you will have a refrigerator. If you are at a Value Resort, you will either need to get on a Swap list, rent one from the resort, or bring an ice chest (which I wouldn't recommend for keeping yogurt or milk in).

We use wegoshop.com for grocery delivery at WDW. Their service is excellent, I cannot say enough good things about them .

I had my surgery May 08 and we were at WDW in July, so I was just eating protein basically. I would get the veggie burger or grilled chicken breast at CS and just eat the protein. I got the salmon at Sunshine Seasons in The Land at Epcot, which was one of my favorites. I gave the sides to the rest of our family, DW and DD would share an entree and have four sides total. I had no trouble getting my fish allowance while there for 8 days. I did take deli turkey slices and no-fat cottage cheese to have for breakfast. Since we drove down, we brought our own bottled water that we put in the refrigerator and took in the parks in small coolers. We did CM for DS and the breakfast buffet at Trails End. I showed the card from my Dr and only had to pay for child's portion. At CM I had the boiled shrimp, salmon, and grilled chicken. Breakfast at TE was a couple of spoonfuls of eggs.

We are headed back in June to the GF and will be on DDP for first time. I guess I will be getting desserts to go for DW and DD to eat later.
