Having a tough time chosing lunch/supper at DL...

I've printed out all the menu's and still can't decide between them! If we eat 2 meals there (counter service only, since we are doing Goofy's our first day), which would be best? My thoughts are: Golden Horseshoe, Bengal Barbecue, Redd Rocketts, French Market, and Rancho Zocalo. We are a family of 5, with 3 boys under 10 who are somewhat picky, so I have to try to make everyone happy in one place!
Last time we were at WDW MK, we spent over an hour wondering around trying to find a good place to eat (and at lunchtime no less!) Needless to say, it was just to feed the kids at that point, and throw away money. I'd like to make this trip to DL a little more organized. :thumbsup2
Thanks!

Out of all of the ones you listed, I'd go with either the Pizza Port (the pizza's "ok", but the pasta, especially the chicken fusilli with parmesan sauce, is SO YUMMY, huge portions, too), or Rancho del Zocalo (huge portions there, too, plus the patio area is a lovely place to dine). The other 2 aren't bad, but they're more for snacks rather than full meals, especially Bengal BBQ...the skewers are really good, but you'd need a few of them to make a full meal.

Have fun on your trip!

I absolutely agree with spacemermaid, especially after trying Pizza Port's chicken fusilli for the first time yesterday! YUM! BBQ is great for a snack - I usually get one meat skewer and one veggie skewer, but it's not enough to make me feel like I've eaten a real meal, and with a family of 5, with skewers being $3.50-$4.00 each, it could get pricey to fill you up.

We liked the Pizza place, too. :)

But we loved Tortilla Joe's in DTD! :) The yummiest veggie burritoes EVER!!

Totally agree - those two would be my picks too! :thumbsup2

I agree with the Pizza Port too, because I am looking at the demographic you have to cater to - the 3 picky boys under age 10! Bengal BBQ is really good, but it does not have enough on the menu to offer any kind of variety to the boys, and the portions are a bit costly for their size. French Market has some things on the menu that the kids may not be interested in. Plaza Inn could be good, as there are quite a few things that kids would like on that menu. Stagedoor Cafe could work too (next to Golden Horseshoe). But I think Pizza Port would be the biggest hit with the boys, and would give you the biggest bang for your buck. People often report that the portions are very generous there, and that quite a few people can be fed for what you get. And who doesn't like pizza/Italian food?:thumbsup2

I'd like to chime in and say that the Golden Horseshoe or Stagedoor Cafe (right outside the GH on the back side) both have large portions. It's very easy for us to buy a couple of meals there and share between us all, especially if we also get a slice of the Mile High Chocolate Cake. :)
