We instituted a new rule in house about a month ago and it has worked WONDERS!!
We told the kids that we would no longer be having dessert every night but that they could pick TWO nights of the week and they could have desserts only on those nights.

They chose Friday and Saturday so I dont even make any form of dessert until those nights and they no longer beg me for it. They know that they can only have it on those nights so we're off the hook totally!

I dont have the temptation 5 out of 7 nights and they dont get too much sugar :)

What a great idea! How clever you are, Binny :)

That is a great idea, Binny!!

My kids are not the problem with sweets at my house, it is my DH...he loves them!:p Thankfully I don't care too much for them anymore, so I am more than happy to buy them and he gets them whenever he wants them! :)

Great idea!! Do you think my husband would go for that. We don't make desserts, and we don't have desserts after dinner. DH does keep ice cream and other snacks in the house. The kids are under the impression that having an evening snack every night is a given right. I do try to get them to make better choices, like cheese and crackers etc.
