having a paper certificate issued from the direct investment plan

I cannot find the information online on the Disney investment plan page. I have tried emailing them, but no response. I am currently on hold and have been stuck on hold for 25 minutes. I am hoping someone else knows an answer to this:

We want to enroll our daughter in the direct investment program for Disney stock. We want a paper certificate issued for a portion of the shares. Is there a minimum number of shares that the paper certificate can be issued for (I seem to remember that 5 years ago it was a minimum of 10 shares)? How do I request that the paper certificate be issued when she first enrolls? What are the disadvantages of having a paper certificate?

They are probably getting a lot of calls as I thought I read that as of Oct 16 Disney will no longer issue paper certificates. I think there was something about having 10 shares. It may have been the account had to have ten shares minimum even after the certificate was issued. So if you were transferring shares to a minor you would transfer 11 so 10 could remain in their account and one be issued in paper form. If so then that might hold for just opening an account via cash payment too. But I may be misremembering!

Took me about 40 minutes to get through. I do not know if there is an account minimum. However, evidently you have to fax in a request for a certificate with account information. She told me that Disney is considering making "collectible" certficates (i.e. no value) available for those that want to frame them. however, when I asked if they would look like the actual certificate, she said they would be different. That defeats the purpose IMO.
