Loved this view from my room![]()
Nice pics....thanks for posting
.The overlooking of the lobby really is so nice. It made it so relaxing to sit there and enjoy the views, and the whole sense of the resort. Our only other CL experience was at the Poly, and of course, that was awesome, too. (We did go up to see WL CL and I would like to stay there sometime, too; and I was going to try to upgrade to SL at the GF at checkin, but the resort was full that night. They told me to try the next day, but I ditched the idea since we were already doing a split stay.) I also thought the offerings were great. That guava juice was so refreshing! OTOH, we weren't particularly impressed with the Savannah view (animals weren't really around much, not sure why) and the walk to the lounge was a hike, but I'd still do it again as I liked it there a lot. I'll be curious to see how you like the CR CL. I'm sure it will be awesome, too.
That's what I loved about WL CL......sitting in the lounge was relaxing while watching the hustle and bustle in the lobby below
. Poly CL is on our list to try as well and even with the construction going on, I am still contemplating going there in March
. The construction wouldn't bother me in the least bit and although the pool closure is a deal breaker for us, I REALLY want to try CL and see the new rooms in person, so I've been trying to talk myself into switching
.....especially since I really don't want to wait until 2016, which is when everything is supposed to be completed. Having a hike to the lounge is a concern of mine as well, especially accessing the lounge from the pool; but then again, that's probably no different than being at the CR and having to go back and forth to that lounge from the pool
. There are some fun and unique things around the GF, for sure! That's what I love about trying different Disney resorts - so many things that even when you study ahead of time, may still pleasantly surprise you!
I agree
It is a dilemma! A good one, but still hard to decide. I can see what you mean about CR's location - it's hard to beat the MK area, for sure. Being at AKL leaves you with far fewer dining choices. Sounds like the CR might be your best bet for this trip, AKL CL for another.
Being shuttled to another resort for a swim has always sounded like a pain to me! I've never understood why anyone would want to do it if it wasn't necessary. The USO resorts not only allow pool hopping, they encourage it - and we've never done it!
Still, we are very fond of AKL CL and usually rate it as 2nd to the Grand, although now that we've tried YC's, it's a tough call.![]()
We do love AKL, but the MK area is our favorite and sometimes it's hard to stay somewhere else. I am thinking maybe save AKL CL for before or after our cruise in December 2014, especially since there's no idea what (if any) discounts will be offered for next year. I think I need to take advantage of the higher discount at the more expensive resort now while I can
. The pool situation at the Poly is one of the reasons I booked the GF at the beginning. I figured if we were going to have to be shuttled there to use the pool, we might as well just stay there.
The way you feel about AKL CL is how I feel about WL CL. RPC is my favorite, but WL CL ranks a very close second for me
Good luck with your decision!
). So even if I got a lower discount during that time, AKL CL would still be cheaper than the others with a higher discount. Thanks for reiterating my thoughts......I think I'm going to stick with CR CL for March as I'm not too confident that I'll be able to snag another 35% discount for it later on
.
. And the lounge is great in that you can still go sit and relax, like in SL and RPC. That's one thing that turns me off about the Epcot resorts......the lounge actually closes (doors lock) where you can't even get into the lounge (at least that's what I've read....we've never stayed at any of them so I don't know from experience). It is nice, however, that all of the clubs have their own unique experiences
.
...honestly, the savings was way too good to pass up

. You could find a manager at the GF and explain what happened, although it might be tough to pin point it to Gasparillas unless you didn't eat anything else prior to that meal. But it doesn't hurt to talk to someone. Good luck and I hope your DH is feeling better soon.
