Morning Everyone!!!

Mickeynut - How are you...nice to see you again!!!

Tink Rules - Not only did they have service to bar for drinks, but last summer they added a nice menu of food to the pool bar. They even carry over to you when its ready, just like at Gaspies. We were in the cabana so they took the order and delivered. I also loved the different menu from Gaspies, nice to have more choices for lunch.

Regarding Big Pine Key and views...I think I have been in almost every room with a garden view. I am a people watcher so I rather look at the kids in the pool then the lake. We had a ground floor ONCE....which included a VERY large black rat snake after day 4. They said he was wrapped up under the couch and it could have been there a while. Needless to say, we got a beautiful suite very high...lol lol!! I still choose Big Pine Key with a no ground floor. I haven't had a problem yet!!!

Blueskies - Caveman looked adorable in his suit!! Sorry I didn't have a chance to reply this weekend.

So happy! Today was my ADR day and the GF IPO got us everything we asked for at the exact times! My e-mail came at 6:32 Central Time.
That means 6 months from this very minute, we'll be on a plane bound for The Grand Floridian! First time staying there and I'm so excited! :cool1:

Hi Wishes.....I'm good, thanks :goodvibes.....I hope things are well with you. It's great to see you too.....hope too see you here more often :).

I remember you posting about your little slithering creature in the room .....that is when I decided first floor rooms are NOT for us :rotfl::rotfl:.

Congrats on getting all of your ADRs :banana:. You are going to love the GF.....it's such a beautiful and relaxing resort :cloud9:.

All of you guys are really making it exciting for me! You guys are so full of helpful info! I appreciate it so, so much! :goodvibes

Good Morning Everyone

I've asked for a room change at the front desk as well as once I was in the room :rolleyes1. Our first assigned room was on the first floor (think snakes ), which didn't click with me until after I walked away from the front desk.

I don't think you can go wrong with BPK or BC :thumbsup2.

This is EXACTLY why I always request an UPPER floor :)

I would have died for sure :faint:

We still haven't made up our minds on which bldg to request...DH is easy and said it doesn't matter to him, the girls? Well, of course, they couldn't agree because that would be too easy . So I sit and debate over BC or BPK as I know I'd prefer one of these two for the close proximity to the pools, decisions decisions........

Congrats on getting all of your ADRs :banana:. You are going to love the GF.....it's such a beautiful and relaxing resort :cloud9:.

This is why we go to the GF every year, because it is such a relaxing resort :cloud9:. That is how my DH was finally sold on WDW vacations every year. He has a very demanding job, and the least thing he wants to do on vacation is be at crowded parks when it is super hot.

The GF changed that totally. He absolutely loves it. We go to the parks but also relax during our time at WDW.

The only time we stayed in Big Pine Key we had a lovely Lagoon View room with the bigest pine tree in front of our balcony. But since we did not spend that much time in our room we never complained. Now my kids don't care about the view and we only stay in GV rooms.

Glad your DH loves the GF. It's hard not to relax at the GF as it's just so calm and peaceful :goodvibes.

BlueSkies: what a great tip about atrium view RPC rooms having a hallway and wet bar. I had no idea and will put this on my room request. Does one just request "atrium view"? Will that make sense to the room assigners?

Does anyone know if RPC can be booked on a bounce back offer? Somehow I doubt it, but you never know. 17 more days to go until we're RPC bound!

Not sure if it is always available, but we are staying in RPC on a bounceback in October, 2014. We booked this while at WDW in Nov, 2013. We are very excited for our first RPC stay and I am excited that I don't have to troll the Fall discounts month after month!

I am getting "antsy" again about which room type to request for our RPC Deluxe (two Queen) trip. I do understand that nothing is guaranteed and will love whatever we end up with, but want to at least put in our room requests and see what happens.

I have seen the two different shape room layouts and we are leaning towards requesting one of the rectangle shaped rooms (silly, but my husband likes the direct view of the TV when falling asleep).

However, I am wondering if the views from the triangle shaped rooms are better or if the water view has now been obscured by the VGF building.

Thanks for your wisdom!!

Hi there everyone... I found this thread in the hopes of getting some info on the GF refurb schedule. We are staying in a garden view room for Easter of this year and are very excited.... really hoping to get a refurbished room. After reading through 10 pages of this thread I am no closer to finding out which non-CL buildings are currently or soon-to-be completed. Can anyone offer me some advice so that I can make a room request?

Thanks in advance :goodvibes

Thanks

The story is very funny, housekeeping cleaned the whole room thinking it was a toy. It didn't even move with them in there. We walked in and my DH thought it was a joke from AK and went to grab it....it jumped and hissed.....we screamed and screamed!!!!! lol lol!!!!

Thats exactly how I got my DH to agree to every year. Between Magical Express (he loves not seeing that luggage) and the GF, he loves it!!!!

BTW - Would love a pin or discount for the end of July. We usually get one from Disney Visa. If anyone hears of one, please let me know!! Thanks

Just read on another thread that a summer discount is coming out tomorrow for Disney Visa holders and on Monday to the GP... supposedly the dates are mid-June thru end of August :)

Yes!!! The GF AND Magical Express sealed the deal for my DH. I'm Glad we have a happy medium because now he comes without any complaints. He would always say he was doing the trip because of the kids. Now it's a different tune when it's time to book our vacation. He even mentioned becoming DVC owners due to fact that we come every year.
