What company is this with?
I just finished making reservations for my family for our first time staying at The Grand Floridian. We are arriving June 6th and taking 5 garden view rooms. Do you think there is a building that is better than others to get these 5 rooms together? I requested Big Pine Key, but thought I should have asked the experts this question first....oops. Also, I read about some room renovations at the Grand Floridian. Does anyone know a schedule for this? It would be nice to be in a newly renovated room. We were to stay at the Polynesian, but with all their construction issues, didn't want to risk not having the volcano pool available. Sure appreciate all your answers I have found on this thread.

I got my Electronic Ticket in the mail on Saturday!:
Does anyone happen to have pictures of Big Pine Key? Garden View views, rooms, entrance? Just curious!
So...they have a handful of rooms left at the great rate...do I snag one just in case? Or do I drop it since there's a good chance I wouldn't be able to use it and go anyway?
Are there any Standard View rooms at the GF or are they all considered Garden View?
Hi all - I just upgraded my room from a lagoon view outer building, to a deluxe garden view outer building - I see diff pics of deluxe rooms but not really sure which are accurate?? there was one I saw with a pull out sofa and 2 queens and had the little alcove by the window, then I saw another pic of no alcove, 2 queens - a love seat, and it looked like an extra little bed on the side???
does anyone have any input???
Yes, the refillable mugs. The mugs had different color lids. Pink, blue, and black, if I remember correctly. Thank you!!

I'm not sure, but I think they did away with the sleeper sofas as I don't think any of the couches are pull out anymore. I also know which pic you are referring to about the extra bed and although I'm not positive, I think it might be a roll away. I don't think there are any daybeds in the deluxe rooms, but hopefully someone will verify that (as well as about the pull out sofa) or correct me if I'm wrong.
Still freezing up here in NH!!!
Hope you are all doing well!
Question....my friend and her family will be joining us at the GF in August. Because we will be in the Sugarloaf building, they were looking at requesting Conch Key right next door. Are there any key points or request they should make? They have a garden view room. They are a family of 5. They want a daybed definitely. Any bad views there?
Any thoughts?
Thanks!!!![]()
Hello, GF lovers!!I hope you are all having a great 2014 so far.
All my kids are finally back home safe and sound. It was a great Christmas, having them all here - now, I have to get used to them being gone all over again.![]()
You are right about the sleeper sofa, they did away with those unfortunately. You can request a rollaway, though.
I'm a little less sure of the daybed info, but I think that is correct, too - no daybed in any of the deluxe outer building rooms. (or the main bldg. deluxe, for that matter, lol)
Good morning everyone!
It's been 11 years since we have stayed at the GF. We were in Boca Chica at that time. We booked a room in Sugar Loaf for this August but I called today to ask about possibly switching to a deluxe room and found that we had a pin code so we upgraded to a deluxe room in RPC with 2 queen beds. We're splurging for our 15th anniversary (thanks to a pin!)!
I saw some pictures on the WDW site of deluxe rooms in the outer buildings. My question is, do all deluxe rooms have a somewhat separate area with a couch/sofa bed and tv? Do they have balconies? The CM told me there are 2 queen beds but she wasn't sure about the sofa bed or balcony.
Thank you!

How much of a walk is it from the outer buildings to the monorail? My mom has MS and I'm planning on what the best hotel would be for her by ease of transportation. She can walk fine, but in case she gets tired from the parks, I want to get back to the hotel as effortlessly as possible so she does not get too fatigued.
I stayed in Sago Cay last time and the walk from the monorail back was probably under 5 minutes -- there was a little cut through around the main building.
I think the only buildings you would want to not be in for your mom's sake, would be Conch Key or Boca Chica as they would be the furthest away.
Check out the map linked below -- It will illustrate where the buildings are in relation to the Monorail. Keep in mind that the monorail is on the second level of the main building so you would need to take the elevator down.
