Having a car- how early can I get to the parks?

I'm staying on property-- adn want to be there by rope drop for most of my mornings-- how early can I get to park in the lots b4 rope drops-- I understand that w/MK I will need to take the ferry over-how early does that start running too? I want to be @ AK and DHS at rope drop--how early should I arrive if I'm driving

It depends on which resort you stay at.

From SSR, OKW, or POFQ, We generally leave between 8:15 and 8:30. However, we don't drive to MK. I would probably leave at 8:00 (all times assuming a 9 AM opening)

The park lots generally open about 90 minutes before the park's scheduled opening time.

The MK ferryboats and monorails start running at about that time, as well, though the Resorts line opens before the Express line.

Getting there an hour before rope drop is usually enough. The lines at the turnstiles back up a bit, but they will actually let you through the turnstiles 10-15 minutes before rope drop and hold you at the actual rope for the opening ceremony.

Here has been our experience with a car for a.m. EMH days......(8am opening)

AK- they hold you at the "toll booth" until 7:30am
DHS- the little booth has been unmanned, so we just drove in and a CM pointed the way for us to park our car. We arrived about 7:20 to 7:30
EP- they hold you at the "toll booth" until 7:30am

We have never driven to MK......sorry, no experience there!

The MK toll booth is open 24X7 although parking attendants are only there about an hour before the park opens.

All the toll plazas, except AK, are open 24 hrs.

The AK toll plaza opens at 7:30
