Due to an unexpected pregnancy, our family trip in September had to be canceled this year. However, I need my disney fix so I decided to take my 3 year old on our 1st Mommy/ Daughter trip.
I have planned 1 night OKW in a studio as we won't be at the hotel til 11pm... and then move to AKLV into a standard 1 bedroom. But now I am having second thoughts and am thinking of getting a 1 bedroom at either OKW or SSR instead due to the fact there is only 1 pool at AKL right now and no community hall for my daughter.
My entire stay is 76 points. (10 @ OKW and 66 @ AKLV)
If I change to OKW it'll be ( 80 @OKW 1 bedroom)
SSR would be either (10 @ OKW studio & 75 @ SSR 1 bedroom)
Or (SSR 100).
I am leaning towards the OKW 1 bedroom as we will already be there and we know the resort and like parking right at the door.

Personally, if DD and I were going (she's almost 6), I'd stay at OKW the entire stay for 4 more points. OKW is a beautiful resort and my daughter used to love taking her toys and sitting with me out on the balcony. Access to the rooms is easy, and I just flat out wouldn't want to move.

SSR is beautiful, too, and their pool is zero entry. It's great for little ones. The also have a "water spout" location with Donald Duck. The little kids love that area!!! If points aren't a huge consideration, the pool at SSR is a better choice for your 3 YO and again...you wouldn't have to move.

Have a WONDERFUL stay with your sweet baby girl! What a special visit for the two of you! :cloud9:

I love OKW and the 1 bedroom is huge! Of course, I am an AKV owner. The pool at AKV is really very cool. It is zero entry as well. And the animals! There are also some great kids activities there. The resort is beautiful, unlike any other, and oh did I mention savannas? Giraffes? Zebras? It could be a truly fun adventure.

But OKW is a our second favorite.

Given that you're only talking about 4 nights total, I'd try to get all at one resort. It seems far too cumbersome to move after one night. If you really must use the zero entry you can also take a ferry over to SSR. And if you really have to see the animals at AKV, you can always plan a bus trip from AK after a park visit. (We do that routinely.)

I would definitely go with OKW and SS over splitting your stay. We love OKW and it is one of our home resorts. We stayed at SS in January and enjoyed that too. I really don't think you can go wrong with either one.

Can you not get AKV for the first night? Since your stay is not long and you are by yourself I would also do the stay at one place. However I would choose AKV if you can get it. My kids love it there!! My kids ae 7 & 3. They love the animals and the pool is great. The slide is perfect for little ones and the zero entry is great. The AKL pool is large and does accomadate many people so I would not have that as a concern. You have a concern about community hall - were you planning on doing alot of activities there? Are you not going to the park? We generally only use community hall for a quick afternoon break once on the vacation.

Also just to tell you AKL has quite a few acitivites at the resort itself like decorating cookies, nightly stories by the fire pit. I can't remember them all but I was impressed with the list of activities they did there. Those acitivites could certainly take the place of a community hall.

I would do the OKW 1 bedroom for the entire stay and wait for AKV when Kidani is finished.

I have decided to stay the whole stay at OKW even though we really don't need the room! They guaranteed me a villa close to Hospitality House and the Community hall which will be nice since we have 2 resort days planned. Also, I am renting a car so I like the convienence of parking outside the door. We will use the boat or bus transportation for our DTD excursions as parking is ALWAYS terrible there I find!
:o)
I truly appreciated everyone's input... but being almost 5 months preggers too... I figure one place is enough work with a 3 year old!

You'll have a great time. OKW is our favorite resort and it is so relaxing. Perfect for the pregnant mommy who needs a little down time, although I don't know how much down time you're going to get with a 3 year old;)
