We have not been to Universal in 12 years. We tend to stay at Disney, but this year we are going for 17 nights Dec22-Jan8 so we are planning on doing both. I have several questions and would appreciate any advice.

1. Are you allowed to take food into the park? We have diabetics in our group and most don't like fast food.

2. We are planning on purchasing the $99./7 day passes. Do we need to purchase the express passes? Or are we going to wait 1-2 hours to get on rides? We would like to go to Universal on Dec 24 and once before New Years.

I am sure I will have more questions but these are the big ones currently.

Thanks

1. Yes...you can bring food into the parks.

2. Express Plus passes wouldn't be a bad idea but only after Christmas Day...I doubt you would need them on 12/24. You can always purchase the EP's at the parks once you see what the lines are like...you do not need to purchase ahead of time.

Thanks so much for the info. We are looking forward to a return to Universal. The kids are now older teens and want the roller coasters. I will be the keeper to the bags since I hate fast rides.

Won't it depend on the size of the container they are trying to bring into the park??:cool2:

You can't bring coolers or a supermarket sized meal but you can bring stuff in a backpack...that should be plenty big for the average person.

We usually pack a few snacks and sandwiches in the backpack. We all carry a cold bottle of water but that is it. We end up buying more than we bring in but it is convenient to have food if BIL needs it. Sometimes the line ups at any food counter, anywhere, can take a lot of time and we definately do not want a reaction when on vacation.
