My oldest DS went to France when he was 12. In High School he's been to New York and Washington DC. In college, he's been to the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, and France/Italy with his basketball team.

Middle DS (16) hasn't been anywhere without us!

And youngest DS (14) has been to WDW with the HS band and Mackinaw Island with the Junior Hi band.

They've all been to summer camps but I doubt that really counts as a trip!:D

Both DD's went to Wash. D.C. for three days for their 8th grade class trip. They absolutely loved it!!!:)

Two of my boys went to Niagara Falls a few years ago with my inlaws.

Yes. DD went to San Francisco and Yosemite for 2 weeks when she was in 7th grade. Even I've never been further west than Ohio.

Every year my children go on a short vacation (4/5days) with their grandparents. The house just doesn't seem the same without them around. I actually miss the yelling and fighting!

I went to Winter Carnaval in Quebec in Febuary with the French Club.

Both DS#3 and DD have been to Washington DC with 8th grade class. DS#3 also went back to DC and then on to Germany for three weeks when he won an essay contest from Daimler/Chrysler in the 9th grade.

DD4.5 just did her first solo trip: a week with her grandparents.

DD21months has a few more years before she can go!

DD (17) went on a 17-day trip to Europe (England, France, Germany, Spain) last year and received college credits for it! She LOVED it! She did terrific and paid for 1/2 the trip herself.

In the past, she's flown (solo) to her grandparents in Philadelphia for a few weeks during the summer.

She is a seasoned traveler -- beginning when she was only 4 months old and came here on a 22-hour plane trip from South Korea! LOL

Ahh, you beat me to it, FOJMO. I was going to say that my kids traveled from Russia to PA to meet us, then traveled from PA to Russia until we could finalize our adoption. They are great travelers.

They spent a week with my parents when I had to go away for work and they've gone on plenty of day trips with my parents. They are going to the beach again with them next Tuesday.

My kids go on vacation with the inlaws every summer. I don't usually like them very much after a constant week of spoiling by the grandparents!! (I swear I am just kidding!)

I went to France/Spain with my best friend's family the summer between 7th and 8th grade. Then I went to Washington DC for 8th grade Spring Break (with school.) Since high school started, Model United Nations has taken me to Salt Lake City, Sacramento/Davis, Russia, and Finland. This school year I will be going to England and Belgium, and possibly Italy (Rome, Florence, Milan, and Venice!) :) I also have been to Boston to visit my aunt alone for two weeks, and last summer I spent three weeks at Yale (going to NYC on the weekends) for a high school summer "experience" (basically a mixture of summer school and camp.) My parents are wonderful. :)

Isn't is something how are kids are getting to see the world?

When I was growing up, we were lucky if we went anywhere WITH our parents, much less without! I mean, maybe we went to the Jersey Shore every few years, but that's about it.

I went to NYC once with a school bus trip and that was a big deal.

My DH is kind of jealous cause he's never even been out of the US except for the Caribbean and Canada. When DD went to Europe, I just know he was envious. I had been to London some years ago.

Our kids are very fortunate.

My kids have traveled a great deal with us. My DS has been to the national convention for the Reform youth movement twice, the national scout Jamboree, a leadership conference in California for JSA, a national governors meeting for JSA in San Francisco, numerous regional conclaves for youth federation, and to Gerogetown for a summer school program on foriegn policy.

My middle child had been to one national convention for youth federation, numerous regional concluaves for youth federation, Washington DC, and to the Duke Gifted and Talented program for three years.

My youngest been on several school trips and is coming back tonight after spending a week with her grandparents in El Paso at a horse camp.

went to Kings Island with my girl scout troup in like 6th grade, I went to Washington D.C., North Carolina, and Williamsburg with grandmother in 7th grade, I flew by myself to grandparents every year starting when I was 6, and in high school I went to Williamsburg one year, Toronto another, and Richmond and third year with band.

My oldest two are MUCH more well-travelled than I am. Almost ever summer they've taken a vacation with their dad - they've been to Washington DC, the Pacific Northwest, California, the Southwest, New England and Nova Scotia, and the Canadian Rockies.

My parents have taken them on some wonderful trips. Boston and New York a few times, a Colonial Virginia trip, a Civil War trip, England (DH and I got to go on that one too! :) ) and then two summers ago they spent two fabulous weeks in Europe - Greece, Italy and France (Venice to Paris via the Orient Express!) The great thing is that they've really got an education on those trips. My mom is a big history buff, and she has passed on her love of history to them. Before every trip she had them read books, and then during the trips they actually had written tests and essays. Some kids might not respond to that but mine both loved it!! Older DS is a history major in college now and I know that tickles my mom to no end! Younger DS has taken every AP history course available in high school, and even though he's planning on a totally unrelated major, he's already talking about some of the history courses he wants to take in college.
