Have you used a TA to book room only?

I am in desperate need of a room on property inMay. Have you ever used a travel agent or anyone else to try to a room only? Any recommendations?

I've used Stephanie at Small World travel to book both packages and room-only. I have also booked by myself, but it is nice to be able to fire off an email and come home to "Your reservation number is #xyz" when I don't have the time to call for myself. I also know that she will watch for any codes or discounts that come out later, so I don't have to. If I want to make changes, I would have to go through her, though, not Disney. (I'm pretty sure....)

It's not necessary and I doubt they can get rooms when you can't but using a TA has some things going for it. All depends on what you want.

I have had very good luck booking a room only thru AAA. Several times, when I checked Expedia and Travelocity, they had no availablilty, but I was always able to find a room thru AAA.

I don''t quite get the problem here. Why can't you call WDW directly and make a room reservation? I do it frequently, without any problems. When calling I request any discount I might qualify for (Florida resident, annual passholder, or whatever), and also make any specific room requests I might want (non smoking, river view, etc.).

Why can't you do that too? Works for me.

Disney give blocks of their rooms to other tour operators, such as Funjet,Gogo,FAV Vacations, Delta Vac. and many more. So just because you
call Disney directly and they are sold out, don't give up. Have you TRAVEL AGENT check with other tour operators, they usually have to give their unsold room allotment back to Disney 5-7 days prior. I always try to book through Disney Travel, but there has been a few times Funjet or other companies have had rooms. Good luck to you.

Yes, just last year. I had booked the land/sea vacation and needed two additional nights at different resorts and she booked it for me no problem. Of course I didn't know anything about SOG overflow rate, so I probably could have saved over $100 last year, mannn, but oh well. Live and learn!
