Have you seen the new WDW vacation commercial where they are now using parents dressed as Super Heroes and the catch phrase is something along the line of telling you to be a hero and take your family to Walt Disney World. The commercials with the dogs were really cute, fun and lighthearted but I do not care for this one at all. Parents can be seen as heroes in there kids eyes whether they are taken to WDW or not. This particular message that Disney is using for the use of selling WDW just does not jive with me. :confused3

Haven't seen it yet- will be looking. Not sure that's a great message to put out there.

I have seen it and I do not like it that much at all!

I don't like it either. I much preferred the one where the husband sees Cinderella and gets all goofy about seeing her, sucks in his stomach, then his wife comes by with an ice cream cone!

I also love the one with dogs and the puppies following "the parents" into WDW.

I don't like this one either - I am not a hero simply because I take my kids to Disney World.

I also can't believe that Disney would make a commercial with super heroes wearing CAPES after all was said about them in The Incredibles! :confused3

When I first started viewing the it, I thought it was kind of hokey. I was thinking it was one of those silly, locally made commercials. Boy, was I shocked to see that it was a WDW commercial!

I think I'd have to have some serious words with the "creative forces" behind this ad. Some major magic :wizard: and warm feelings :goodvibes were no where to be found.

I agree, I've seen it also and don't like it. The first time I saw it, I remember trying to figure out what this commercial was selling, when I saw it was a commercial for WDW, I was really surprised.

First, I think the commercial is kind of cheesy, not that well done. I also think the message is confusing, took me a minute to get it. But more importantly, it lacks "heart" and sentiment, which most of the other WDW commercials have. Most of the Disney commercials make me go "aawww, I want to go back!!!". But this one doesn't at all. And, lastly, like others have said... we don't need to take our kids to WDW to be their hero!

I saw it last night. Hokey sure, but it reminds me of WDW - so I love it :goodvibes

When the commercial started, I thought it was one of those new medicine commercials. But when it said WDW-I was really suprised. A pretty poor effort IMHO. Nothing like commercials of the past and it felt cheaply made. I can't support that-just a feeling.

That said, I was not offended, at all. It did nothing for me, either way.

The costumes all look really cheap in this commercial. I love getting a glimpse of WDW, but at the end it looks like they had the family look at a "bluescreen" and superimposed the fireworks later, rather than having them there for the actual show.

It was just on. You're right, Robin. That's exactly what it looks like!

I don't like it either, and personally when I first saw it I though it was a Universal commercial, because they have Spiderman, Captain America, etc.
It never entered my mind Super Heroes = The Incredibles.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I too was trying to figure out what the commercial was about. It felt too generic for a WDW commercial. The message doesn't bother me though. I didn't even "get" that part anyway.

Yes, I saw it, not to fond of it myself. Not the best message to be sending out to kids.

I wonder how the commercial got by "The Testing Market".

My husband knows I am planning a big trip in April 07 - and he wants to know what ride opened with "Super Hero's", I told him I think the commercial has something to do with the Incredibles, but these parents look more like the "Powder Puff Action Hero's."

Aw, I was just about to place an order for a hero costume...

I thought the animals were funny, too, but it does seem more fitting for Universal. There are so many nice ways to promote WDW that the company. They can do better.

Okay now, will my cape get caught in the turnstile?

I don't like it too much either.....
I love the one with the man and Cinderella :)

Boy, I must miss everything. What was said?????

It's pretty much a take-off on the Incredibles, since the people walking around in the costumes all seem to have "normal, gut-sticking-out" bodies. But they're already heroes in their everyday life, I think they were trying to portray.

Meh. Bring back the cute doggies!! :lovestruc
