Have you seen any good movies lately?

The Other Boleyn Girl-absoultely stunning, great acting, and a powerful story.

Enchanted-Oh my goodness, this was just TOO cute!! Very adorable, lovey, and as usual, a happy ending :lovestruc

Had a Harry Potter movie fest over the past 2 weeks-yes, I'm a Harry Potter Geek!

Dan in Real Life ~ now I am a Steve Carrell fan

Horton hears a who looks cute, and I want to get enchanted
you can tell I'm not much for scary movies slow and sweet is my speed

We have Hollywood MVP and I love watching movies, we have seen almost everything new, so recently I have been trying to introduce the DW to movies that I loved as a kid. She has never seen the Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, or Jack Ryan Series.

The last new movie that I watched was "No Country For Old Men"~it was pretty good, maybe I don't really understand the Coehen Brothers style, so it wasn't what I was expecting.

We have "Attonment" sitting on the tv stand waiting to be watched.

The last movie I saw in the Theater was "Cloverfield"~Loved it and can not wait for the sequel!! Especially because of the time that JJ Abrams and his marketing took to create websites on the internet for everything involved in the movie. It's a lot like Lost with the mystery behind it. So far best movie of the year.

I love the Die Hard and Jack Ryan series. Maybe it's b/c I enjoyed the Tom Clancy books. I think Patriot Games is my fave, and for Die Hard the latest one was the best, we saw it at the drive in this summer.

(Hate to be negative, I try to stay positive but also saw POTC 3 at the drive in this summer and it goes down as one of the worst/longest drive in experiences I can recall. The plot just seemed to drag and love JDepp but watching him in the desert with the hallucination scenes, I was just longing for it to be over.)

I said I didn't like scary but I did watch Disturbia on my trip.

Back to the positive, loved Enchanted last night. Amy Adams was brilliant.

We absolutely love going to the drive in, we now think it is the only way to go see movies "in the theater". I can't wait for the one here to open back up. There is nothing like an air mattress in the back of the truck, with whole foods pizza, our favorite snacks, and one of our fur babies.:thumbsup2

I am going to have to send her over here to see your post, she is so reluctant to watch the Jack Ryan Series.

I love Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan!! He is just such a (albeit at times reluctant) hero, and his wife and daughter are so well cast! I would not start w/ a submarine one, those are a bit boring to me

the plot line in patriot games keeps me watching it over and over if I catch it on tv, and the really bad guy is also the pilot in that Jodie Foster movie, Flight Plan and just let me say he is quite the actor and oh so cute

When CIA Analyst Jack Ryan interferes with an IRA assassination, a renegade faction targets him and his family for revenge, starring Harrison Ford, Patrick Bergin (he was good in that movie w/ Julia Roberts as the psycho husband), Anne Archer and Sean Bean

The Notebook, Atonement, The Holiday, Transformers, Lars and the Real Girl (filmed in my town!!).

I saw "Away from Her" yesterday. Loved it! I'm amazed at Sarah Polley, I knew she could act (specially after seeing My Life Without Me) but who knew she could direct!

Went with my kids and nephews today to see Drillbit Taylor. Same ole slapstick kind of flick as most other comedies these days, but if you enjoy Owen Wilson movies, you'll like him in this one.

Also just got The Gnome Mobile from the Disney Movie Club (50% off promo going on) Oldie but GOODIE!

Daisy where in Durham r u?
I am in Uxbridge lol

Hi Dan!:goodvibes
Sorry it took me a while to see your post.
(Tried to send a pm but it wasn't going through for some reason.)
We're in the north Oshawa area. So we are not that far!!
Have you lived here always? I have only been here a few years.
Take care,
Daisy

Juno - lots of laugh out loud moments, loved it!

Disturbia - not bad at all

Knocked Up - very funny, but about 30 minutes too long

We usually wait for DVD releases (we love the Red Box Rentals:lovestruc ) however we do have a $1.00 movie theater nearby that has "older new releases" (not quite out on DVD yet) and go there every great now and then.

We went last week to see "Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins" and it was side-splitting funny! :rotfl:

It was not for kids... a tad "dirty", but very funny! :goodvibes

Micheal Clayton.........very good

Vacancy..........scary, strange, violent
The Hills Have Eyes...........extremely violent, weird, scary.........not really my cup of tea.........i won't watch part 2.

We saw "Superhero Movie" yesterday. It was very corny, but we like that sort of thing ... .as well as seeing young men in tights ... LOL.
