We're doing the Epic in May (out of Barcelona). Your budget of $10K sounds very realistic and I think you will be able to afford the nicer end of stuff. For ours, right now I have our budget set at $9K. That is for the two of us with a balcony room. We will spend 2 nights in Barcelona beforehand. Also with my budget I spent $1,100 more in airfare (for 2 tickets) then I had to. I am picky with my flight times and I wanted to have only one connection, etc.
We plan to do Monte Carlo when we port in Cannes.
We also contemplated a longer cruise. It does seem a waste in the cost of airfare to just do a 7 night cruise. But even though we are excited to see all the "old stuff", we are not sure if we will enjoy seeing the "old stuff" for a 12 or 14 night cruise. We figured we could always go back and do the Eastern Med another year.
