Have you noticed a decrease in telemarketing calls since the "dont call list"?

In my house the telemarketing calls have stopped since we signed up for the "don't call list". We use to get a few calls a day, alot of them from long distance providers and credit cards. Now no calls at all from telemarketers. How much of the high US unemployment rate is due to the firings of thousands of telemarketers? Do you miss them?

Yes, I love it, I used to get a call everyday @ 9:22 am, I just wouldn't answer it - No more though. I still get a few. I check caller ID, if I don't know the # I don't answer.

I work from home a few days a week and definintely see a decrease in calls. I don't miss them at all!

Yes, there's a definite decrese. The only one I keep getting is the FL Highway Patrol, etc. ...whoever they spread phone numbers to.

We have definitely seen a decrease, even since PA started their own do not call list, last year. I am sorry that people may lose their jobs, but I have to be honest I do not miss those phone calls. Most of the callers were so pushy, sometimes down right rude, when they would get like that I just hung up on them.

We only have one company that calls us now. It's an automated thing that says, "Hello. This is not a sales call." Of course, it is a sales call, but they've found some loophole so they can call.

I don't miss the telemarketers at all.

I just mentioned this last night at dinner. My MIL was here and says she gets tons of mortgage and sattelite tv calls. I realized at that point that we don't get them anymore. Yay!!!

I notice a dramatic decrease in telemarketing calls & I'm so very grateful!! Seemed like every time I put baby down for nap that dang phone would ring! But now ~ life is good!

Yep, huge decrease! Finally, our government does something the people really want and does it right!

I am SO glad we signed up for the 'no call' list. We used to get up to 30 or more calls A DAY from solicitors wanting this that or the other. Now..we get maybe one or two, which is a huge improvement.

Now if only I could figure out a way to get my mother to stop calling me.....

Yes, I don't receive any telemarketing calls anymore. But then again, I don't answer my home phone anyway. My friends and family have my cell number, so I know it wouldn't be them. Anyone calling on the home phone can leave a message.

I understand that they can call if we have a relationship with the company like a credit card. Just think of the people who aren't on the list. I bet they get twice as many calls to make up for the difference. I wonder if the telemarketers take that as a sign that they WANT to be called.

I'm getting a few calls a week from research companies. Why would I want to take MY time to do them a favor by giving them MY opinions for FREE?

They are the next group I want to have added to the Do Not Call list.

We have had a state do not call list for about a year longer than the national one. I have noticed a big difference, but the political and donations calls continue.

I've seen a HUGE decrease in calls and LOVE it!!!

It saves me from having to lie to these people I used to get very creative...when a woman called and asked for my husband, I'd ask if she was his mistress and then go into a long story about how he just left me with two kids, etc. When it was for me, well then either I was a "renter" or I had just sold the house. Or I'd go into a rant about some other service, like if it was the phone company calling, I'd go on and on about my mortgage rate or something else having NOTHING to do with my phone. Got to be a game for me, but do I miss it....NO WAY!
