Sorry for the long title...

A friend was telling me today that Walmart will price match purchases made in their stores starting Nov 1st with any ad at anytime before Christmas day itself if you bring in your Walmart receipt and the ad. Basically the same thing Target and Kohls do within their own stores if something goes on sale within two weeks after you buy it.

But this is if the item goes on sale for less anywhere with a print ad between Nov 1 and Dec24.

However I can't find confirmation of this anywhere. Anyone else heard this?

Yes, I heard that too.. I will see if I can find where I read it and post it for you..

I think its great cause it also includes your items on layaway. Too bad they wont do it for Black Friday ads though :)

Best Buy is going to do it also - per a salesperson - we have been talking to him about a PS 3 bundle. The date starts in early Nov. - also the warranty does not start counting down until sometime around Christmas - which I really like also. Lastly they will price match other stores.

Make sure that you print out the policy and take it with you when you attempt to match. Walmart is notorious for only matching when they feel like it.

Thanks for posting this! Will make holiday shopping a bit easier, I hope. It is too bad they exclude Black Friday but I guess you can't blame them. Matching all those ads would be an utter mess to contend with.

One thing it says in that link is that it will be for "eligible items" Wonder what eligible means exactly.

I'm sure some things like produce are logically excluded. Can you imagine buying peaches one week then trying to price match them a week later? It would be great for me but honestly chances that I still have those peaches are nil so it would be fair to exclude produce/ fresh foods....IMO

From the Walmart link above:

Offer excludes: Black Friday ads, expired ads, offers with Gift Cards, internet pricing, limited time or quantity offers (i.e. 6 hour sales), percentage off ads, bundles, trade-in offers, offers that require a purchase or gift provided with purchase, clearance or ads with typographical errors. The Christmas Price Guarantee does not apply to grocery items, non-branded items (i.e. live plants), tobacco, firearms, gasoline, tires, prescription drugs, optical, or wireless products that require a service agreement.

Will we still be able to price match on the actual day of Black Friday though like we have in the past? We usually price match many of the TRU or Target, etc Black Friday deals at Walmart since those stores are further away from us. Or is Walmart totally not doing any price matching on Black Friday itself?

This page says the regular ad match guarantee will work on BF: http://www.walmart.com/cp/Christmas-Price-Guarantee/1089504?adid=1500000000000023901570

I heard about it on the radio this morning... they said you'll be refunded the difference in the form of a Walmart gift card, not cash.
