Have you heard of Star Trns Towncar???

Hi just received my reservation Confirmation from WD Travel Co. for the towncar service they have listed "Star Trns Towncar". Has anyone heard of Star ???

WDW Travel booked us with Star Taxi Towncar during our visit last year and they were wonderful - right on time, very professional and courteous. They met us in the baggage area and took us directly to the resort. We are using them again when we arrive tomorrow and I will let you know if things have changed.

ilvsocr00 - Thank you so much for your reply. I am new and it will be our first time to WDW. I really have no idea even how long it takes to go from the airport to WDW. We are staying at the YC 12/19 - 12/25. Hope you enjoy your trip!

We just returned from a wonderful trip - beautiful weather and small crowds. Although I never stayed at the YC - it looks fantastic - have a great time.

To answer your question about the airport. It takes approxiamtely 20-30 minutes to reach WDW - maybe a little more if you are arriving during rush hour. Still no complaints with Star Taxi Towncar - they met us in the baggage area and were right on time on the way home. The only difference from our previous trip was a representative called us a few days prior to our return trip home to schedule a pick-up time and to make sure everything was ok. Last time I was the one who called.

HI and Welcome back!. So happy to hear you had a wonderful trip and low crowds. Do you remember what time the towncar picked you up to take you back to the airport. I mean what time was your flight and how you decided what time to leave for the airport. Thanks again for helping me out.

A friend at work used them a couple of weeks ago. She said that no one was waiting for them when they arrived - she had to call them to find out where they were. On the return trip, the driver showed up in a LIMO!! She did say that they were very friendly. Does anyone know when they started this service - I thought that WDW used MEARS only??!!

abwdreaming - I think planning a WDW vacation is half the fun. You have so much to look forward too. I am so jealous!

Our flight out was on Sat. at 5:30 pm. I read somewhere that Saturday's are busy at Orlando's airport due to the number of people returning from their cruises, so we gave ourselves 2 hours for check in. I am always selected to have my bags checked, so it worked out well - you may be able to leave 1 1/2 hours to avoid waiting around. The towncar picked us up at 3:00 pm, but we didn't get on the road until 3:15 or so - last minute packing, gift buying and trying to get my bunch to actually leave was challenging.

I figured if we missed the flight that would give me an excuse to stay a little while longer - it's hard to go back to work

Just found out that STAR is not always reliable. WDW uses both Mears and STAR for transportation. However, STAR was charging us $140 RT and I believe MEARS towncar service is for less. Does anyone know where I can find a discount coupon for MEARS?
