...or "unhealthy" with colds, coughs, sickness bugs, etc.?

Both DH and myself are still recovering from a nasty dose of the flu. We still have the most appaling dry, hacking coughs and get loads of phlegm. Not nice at all.

Are there any healthy DIS'ers out there?

I don't want to say this too loudy for fear the sickness gods will hear me ;) but aside from all of us having a mild case of strep throat a few weeks ago we've been healthy all winter.

I've been surprisingly healthy all winter considering how much my daughter and husband have been sick. I had one small cold. I also take extra vitamin C in the winter so that probably helps.

Not me! I have been sick since before Christmas...nasty cold, flu, bronchial infection x2... I just went to the dr. again yesterday and got my 3rd dose of antibiotics in as many months. I also got an inhaler I have to use 2x a day. Hoping that three times is a charm!

Ive been healthier this winter. I think its due to my healthier way of eating, more vitamins, etc.

I have my DH to thank for his germs! He takes a daily Vitamin C and has fresh juice everyday but he still goes down with loads of colds, which I invariably catch.

I was actually praying that 2004 would be a healthy year for our family. The last few years have been awful (I'll interject that I am thankful because it could be worse). However, I have had a terrible "stomach bug" for several weeks now. All my tests keep coming back fine. They have pretty much ruled out most everything serious and not so serious. They are now blaming it on IBS or a possible virus. I just want to get better as my countdown clock is ticking awfully quick these days-- and I want to feel great on vacation!!!!

This first part of 2004 has been brutal for us...kind of interesting as this is the first year I don't work outside the hoome (and for 8 years I worked in an elem. school building at that- a haven for germs). All 4 of us have been sick, both boys have had a stomach/gastro bug and then DS6 had a sinus infection. Both DH and I have had a stomach bug as well, plus then I had strep throat and a sinus infection at the same time. I think we're finally all better (knock wood).

Nope, all 5 of us (my SO, me, our dd, our ds and our puppy) have all had something this winter. Both of my kids are currently recovering from strep throat.

Count me in the unhealthy crowd also. I had bronchitis a month ago, finally got over that and now I've got a horrible head cold, that makes me feel like I could just fade away except for the dull ache down the right side of my face from clogged sinuses. Just got done putting warm wash clothes on my face trying to open up my sinuses. UGH!

I am NEVER sick and can't believe this has been happening. It's making me crazy. My coworkers can't believe it either and say in all the years they've worked with me, they've never known me to be this sick. My kids are probably happy because my voice hasn't been much over a whisper the last couple days.:p

Okay, do you think I've whined enough? ;) :D

Well, I'll join you in some whining! ;)

Just curious - what are the symptoms of strep throat?

Yuck I am soooo sick with one of the worse colds I've ever had.:( It started Sunday and is just getting worse. My DH is sick too with a recurring fever and an awful cough.:( We've really had nothing but bad news and bad health since 2004 started. I wish I could sleep it off until 2005 and hopefully better things to come?:sunny:

I'm sorry for whining.:(

Just curious - what are the symptoms of strep throat?

A sore throat, swollen glands, fever, sometimes a rash on torso (This is how I found out my son had it a few years ago), and white patches on tonsils.

Wilgus has a cold right now. He hadn't been ill since starting Atkins.

I haven't been ill since last January. YIKES, I hope I didn't just jinx myself ;)

Sometimes strep will actually include vomiting too. Strep does need to be treated with antibiotics. So if you feel you have it be sure to get treated. The good thing is most suspected cases of strep are just tonisillitis.

I just want to add that on top of my whole stomach upset thing. I too am coming down with a cold in my sinuses and my chest. Good thing I just had my inhaler's refilled, I usually use them 3x as much during a cold. (I have asthma as well). Positive side, hopfully I am on the down side in 11 day!!!!!!!!
