Have you guys ever gotten a call from DVC a few weeks before a trip????

I got a nice call this afternoon. I am pretty sure this was a first. She asked me if I had ordered my magic bands, if we were celebrating anything, if we needed any help with any plans, reservations, did we understand how to do online check in. The only thing I reviewed with her were our requests. IS this a new thing??
 
I received a similar call from a CM at Grand Floridian Villas prior to our first stay in 2013. In about 20 DVC stays, just the one call.
 
I have received calls from the DVC Homecoming Committee, but only before my stays at the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. I received a call roughy 2 weeks before each of my three arrivals.
 
DVC started this for some members a year or so ago. I assume that it's a PR thing and a chance to try to sell the membership magic events but it's a really soft sell.

I honestly thought it was going to be about the fact that I have two ressies under two different membership numbers and we requested to be in the same area and near each other. LOL I had no idea why they were calling.
 
We actually got a call from DVC last December as we were pulling into the property. The rep said he was calling to straighten out our friends & family on MDE and ask if we needed assistance with anything...dining, magic bands, fast passes. I told him that we had been unable to get a fast passes to SDMT and low and behold he gave us fast passes for our whole traveling party. Pretty good phone call, I'd say!

I got the call today. The CM asked about online check-in, Magical Express, any room requests. It was our first call about this.
 
I got one last month prior to my Poly stay. She kept asking was there anything she could do for me, and every time I asked, she said she could not help me ( verify room request, check on days left on my tickets, state of the construction, etc):rolleyes2
So I'm not so sure what their real purpose is. It was a nice gesture but very unproductive.
 
never.............lots of trips

I have gotten calls from my guide while there, but even that hasn't happened in the last couple of years
 
Never a call ahead in years and years. Always a voicemail (never a live call) from my guide, who never returns my calls any other time!
 
15 years with DVC and never have gotten a pre trip call. Actually, other than the mass mailings with my sales reps name on them I've never heard from him. Last mailing I got recently said he had retired.
