Have you flown from Logan on Delta direct LATELY, Debster you back yet?

We're flying on a MD-80 going down, and a I believe 738 coming back. I sure will miss the Song planes, but I'm dying to know about the latest planes they're using. Can you describe the amenities, no tv's, correct? Should I even bother with my own headphones for anything?

We're back. We got caught up in the travel snafu on the 14th. Sat at Logan for over 9 hours, boarding, waiting, sitting at the gate, deplaning, lather, rinse, repeat.

We were scheduled on the 8am, they finally cancelled us at 3:30pm, and we did not get our luggage back until 6:30. THAT was a lot of fun.

Got rebooked for Saturday night, and were given an upgrade to 1st class, which was VERY nice.

No ammenities to speak of on the MD-88. No TV's, no radio. I would not bring headphones, unless you have something to listen to.

We flew home on AirTran, so I can't even comment on the setup of the MD88 in coach.

I'm with you....really miss those Song planes. I'm finding I like JB but I was just starting to get some decent FF miles with Delta when they discontinued Song.

You won't need headphones on the MD80, no in-flight anything on them. But on the 737-800, you'll be able to listen to music or watch whatever is being shown on the overhead screens.

Jeff, on the overhead screens, are they movies you have to pay for? Will I be able to use my headphones for that?

It won't be a movie - its more of a selection of various "entertaining" segments. Some half-hour type sit-com type shows and celebrity news kind of stuff. No charge for that if you use your own headset.

If you're one of the few people in the USA that doesn't own an iPod, you can still listen to about 10 chanels of music with your own headset even if you don't want to watch a movie.

yup, I'm one of those without an ipod! All 3 of my kids can't live without theirs, but not me. I'd rather watch tv, or read. So thanks so much for all your feedback, very helpful. 11 more days and we'll be waiting at Logan airport, yahoo!!
