It has to be the most amazing thing I have ever seen!
The day before yesterday my DD and son-in-laws dog became very, very ill.. When they rushed him to the vet they learned that he was suffering from pancreatitis (he's only 2 years old) and his heart rate was so fast the vet wasn't sure he would make it through the night.. As soon as they came home they called my son-in-law's cousin (who is a vet) and she flew in yesterday from California.. In her practice she has incorporated accupuncture in animals for various reasons - one of them being pain control because morphine and such can cause liver problems.. Once she arrived back here she went to the vet hospital with my DD and the vet there allowed her to take the dog back here to treat with antibiotics (catheter in place for the injections) and the pain medication.. Because of her experiences with accupuncture, she decided to go that route first (rather than administer the pain meds) and I have never seen anything like it in my entire life! Within 5 minutes of inserting the needles in the correct places, the dog fell sound asleep and was clearly no longer in pain..
She came by again this morning to give him his antibiotics and another accupuncture treatment and he's been fine all day long.. Later this evening she'll be coming by again to check on him and see if we can very slowly introduce low fat foods.. So far he's had water several times today and hasn't vomited, so that's a very good sign..
Anyhow - just wanted to know if anyone else has had their animal treated with accupunture.. (She's used it on everything from cats to dogs to horses and cows..)
She's hoping to eventually use accupuncture for humans as well - for various ailments - and I think we're all going to volunteer as her guinea pigs.. The results were just amazing!
