Have you ever run into anyone from your town at Disney?

Ran into a co-worker (not from my hometown) in Epcot about 5 years ago. We both knew the other would be on vacation that week, but somehow we didn't tell each other we'd both be going to WDW.

Also bumped into the former mayor of my hometown in of all places, Hong Kong Disneyland. Small world indeed.

years ago we bumped into a family that we know very well. Also at the same time all of us heard this familiar voice, and when we turned around it was a teacher from our kids school. We all got a good laugh out of that. So we took pics. with all the kids with the teacher.

We were served by our DS' summer day camp counselor from the previous summer. We live in upper SC. She had graduated from college and been working there since May. My DSs comment "She's a lot nicer at Disney than she was as a camp counselor." My coment: "Dealing with all you bratty kids all summer was probably good preparation for Disney."

Yes, ran into a family from the next town over (10 miles from us) in MK once. After I booked for Dec. this year I found out my niece had booked for her and her husband and their two kids and my bil and sil (her parents) for the same dates when she called to get restaurant recommendations and I asked when they were going. Great minds think alike! They live about 2 miles from us. :)

Our first day walking into Epcot my husband ran into someone he used to work with a couple of years back!

When I was a Cast Member in '96 I worked some extra hrs at grad night at MK. This was the one and only time I ever did this, as it was over night. They put me on security at the hub in font of the castle. All of a sudden, two of my favorite high school teachers walk by!!!! It had been 7 yrs since HS, but it was still neat to see some familiar friendly faces from a very small SC town!

Isn't serendipity great! One time I was watching Electro-Magic from a few rows back when someone brushed by me saying, "Excuse, me, my family is up here". Turns out the "stranger" was a friend that lives a couple miles from us. She was there with her husband and two kids on their first visit. She didn't recognize me, so I waited until after the parade to surprise the whole family.

Yes! We have run into the same family twice 4 years apart! It was a girl who was in my son's preschool class we ran into the first year they were in class together and then this past November I was in the bathroom at GF with my dd before her and ds were going to Alice Tea Party and ran into them again! And, their dd was doing the tea party too!

Crazy!!!

We where there one week and ran into two different neighbors. It was the schools fall break. I knew they where at Disney but didnot know their schedules. I jsut happen to be walking and saw them standing there waiting for the Fireworks.

yes, we have a couple of times. Twice it has been families from where our daughter dances. We meet a couple on the bus at Ft Wilderness and struck up a conversation because we all had on matching shirts with our little town on them. They lived just about 5 miles from us but the girls took dance at the same studio. Next visit we walked into CTR for breakfast and my daughter goes "Hi Sam" to which of course she says "hi Bec".(same daughter). They were in the same dance class but I had never met mom and dad. On our last visit we ran into a family that lives just around the corner from us and their son and same daughter are in the same class at school....what are the odds???

Yes. When I was there in 2005 as a CP I ran into a friend of mine from High School back home. I had been there for a few months and it was so great to see a familiar face that I kind of tackled him with a big bear hug. It surprised him a little, but then he realized it was me and hugged me back. We chatted for a few minutes and then he went on into the ride.

YES!

On our trip last December, we ran into some friends of ours that had recently moved to San Diego, that was kind of cool!

On that same trip, I ran into one of my employee's sons in the Food Court of All Star Movies. What's creepy and awful about this is that I have NEVER met this guy and he had no idea who I was, but I talk to his Mom and his Sister every single day, and have seen so many pictures of his family, that for some reason, I really felt compelled to talk to him like I've known him for years. Too bad I never introduced myself, I just started talking to him like I knew him, thus making me look absolutely insane. Whoooooooops?

But even crazier....

This past September, my Husband and I are walking to our room in the Pop Century, and we're on that weird trail between the 60's building, heading towards the bowling pin pool in the 50's building, when I hear this voice from behind me asking "Excuse me, could you tell me where Building 5 is?". We didn't really know where it was, so we helped the guy and started to walk away, when he decided to keep talking to us...to our backs. We were really really tired and didn't want to talk, but he kept talking to our backs, so we felt bad and stopped and talked to him for a bit. Everything he did seemed really odd and really familiar. In my head, I kept saying "Where do I know this guy?" and then he started talking about himself "I'm 65 years old, and today's my birthday! Can you believe I've never been here? 65 years, and my first trip to Disney World, how crazy..." then he dropped the bomb on me "I'm from Philadelphia..." then my brain started RACING. I couldn't even concentrate on what he was saying, all I could think was "WHERE DO I KNOW THIS MAN FROM AND WHY WON'T HE SHUT UP". My husband was talking to him about how we were also from Philadelphia, but he wasn't interested in us...he just kept talking about himself  Eventually, he decided to go to bed, and I didn't mention the familiarity to my husband, because I figured if he didn't recognize him, he wouldn't be able to help me remember him.

Then a couple days later, we're sitting in the Food Court when that guy walks in --- wearing a big sombrero! I almost DIED. I can't believe it took a giant sombrero to help me remember him. I used to work at a Starbucks in the business district of Philadelphia, and this guy used to come in every single day. He'd wear a Hawaiian shirt and a big floppy hat and order a large glass of milk. He was kind of slow, and would always start these really crazy conversations with me about absolutely nothing. He ruled. I stopped working there about 6 or 7 years ago. He always thought my name was Cynthia (I'd say 'Danielle', he'd repeat back 'Cynthia'...after numerous tries, I just gave up and became Cynthia)

I decided against telling him who I was. I felt like a fraud enough as it was, since he thought my name was Cynthia all this time! I'd also have felt really dumb if he didn't remember me...I have this tendency to remember people and faces that I probably shouldn't (as evident from my 2nd story)

I ran into my former psycho boss in Epcot last year. Very annoying to have to run into them in my happy place! Kind of like when you're having a great dream and someone random pops in and ruins it.

I grew up in a rice farming community with under 300 kids k-12 in the school district, and it is one of the largest districts in the state measured by square miles--lots of land, very few people.

My DH, mom, dad and I were looking at the cars in Test Track and ran into a couple that I grew up with (she was one of my best friends) and their kids and her parents. Her mom was my 2nd grade teacher!

The next year we were at WDW for a conference (my DS's first trip) so there were lots of families that we knew, but it still surprised me how many of them we saw in the parks considering how big they are and how many people are there every day.

OK, just back and this time, sitting at the very next table at the Hollywood and Vine character breakfast was a guy from the same very small school. We were in the school play together and his dad was the HS principal. His family was also sitting two rows in front of us at Fantasmic that night.

Everytime we go we run into someone!!! We always go during our spring break at school, so chances are good!

This past April/May we ran into our neighbor from 3 doors down. I almost walked right past them-good thing DH pays attention.

Not Disney, but at Island of Adventure this summer, I ran into a lady I used to work with in a restaraunt.
