Have you ever had your contact lenses cleaned at the eye doctor?

I had mine cleaned today (it was free as part of my appointment; otherwise, it's $5 per lense). What a difference it made! I just wonder how often this is recommended.

The only time I ever had mine cleaned is when I'm at the eye doctor for an appointment. I'm always terrified they're going to break them! I wear special order RGP lenses that sometimes take weeks to come in.
