When we were there October thru December 2009, we had one heck of a time with our "linked" reservations. We were there when they were doing all of the upgrades to the loops to convert them to premium sites (i.e. widing pads, clearing out brush, new landscaping, etc). Our reservations were for a full hookup site. When we got there, we were assigned the 1700 and it was rated at full hookup. At the time of check-in, I worked with a Duty Manager so that I would not have to move for my 3 month stay and he assured me that I would be okay because all of my reservations were linked together.
When we went back to check-in for another 30 days, the 1700 sites were upgraded to preferred sites and since my reservation was for a full hookup, they assigned me another full hookup loop (I think it was 1100 or 1300, don't remember). There used to be alot more full hookup loops -- more than just the 4 that are left. There is no way I was going to move, especially since I had cleared it all previously with the Duty Manager. So they let me stay in my site but charged my credit card for the additional money for preferred rates without saying anything to me. After numerous discussions I finally got it resolved - for November anyway - still had December to worry about.
When I went to check back in for December, I had the same problem to deal with again. They wanted me to move to another loop or pay for preferred prices even though they were still reworking sites and some people were staying in the 1600-1900 loops at the full hookup rate and some had to pay preferred. It was so screwed up during that time. I fought it again and finally got it resolved to stay in my site at full hookup rates. Once they completed the revamping of the sites to premium, the 1600-1900 loops officially returned to full hookup sites. I guess they were just trying to get alittle bit more money for those sites while they were revamping the rest of the loops. That was such a mess and everytime we go for an extended stay now I still hold my breath that I won't have to deal with any hassles when checking back in for another 30 days. We have never had another problem since that one time.
