Have You Ever Had A WDW Seagull Steal Anything From You?

....mine....mine....mine....mine.

I just did this the other day we went to McD's and I was sitting in the car throwing fries out the window and the gulls are all over this, and I kept going, ....mine....mine...mine.... when I threw one out, my boys were in the back seat cracking up, they kept yelling throw out more throw out more. :teeth:

At the pool at the Poly, I had just gone in and purchased the most appetizing looking cheese burger of my life. ( I must have been starving??) I carefully carried the tray out to the dining tables. Dh started eating his, I put the "perfect amount of catsup and mustard" on mine. Just as I was getting ready to take my first bite ( both hands holding the sandwich) a Seagull landed on my head and took a perfectly beak shaped bite out of my sandwich. The look on Dh face was priceless.... I am sure mine was too! He was waiting to see if I was mad before he started laughing: I Laughed. So what did I do with my sandwich???? I ate it all!.......

I saw a seagull knock ice cream off of someone's cone in Tomorrowland...that's about it. They're a little scary!!

Well, it didn't happen to me but it DID happen in Orlando. My family was spending a nice day at Sea World, and we had all just bought ice cream bars. Then out of nowhere, a seagull swooped down and snatched the my brother's ice cream right out of his hand!

If only we had the video camera running! Oh and don't worry....there were no tears.........my brother was in his early 40s at the time! LOL!

Not me, but DH. We were on Discovery Island, which had many seagulls/birdies on it. He had a small sub sandwich. When he was lifting the top bun off to put mustard on it, a seagull took it right out of his hand. He was so whacked, he threw his plastic fork at it.:teeth: He missed it, yay!:teeth: So he had to fold his sandwich over, making it a mini sub.:teeth:

Several yearts ago in the MK in Frontierland we saw a seagull snatch one of those smoked turkey legs - if I hadn't seen it I would have never believed it!

My DS also lost a hot dog at SAB - made me out two hands around my marguarita!!

I had a seagull steal my tub of french fries from my tray as I walked out the door at the American Adventure fast food place. It seems the gulls sit on the roof and swoop down before you can see them. I was still looking incredulously at my empty tray, when a cast member came up with a new tub of fries and said, "they do that all the time".

I had a box of donuts I had brought from home. I was by the pool at WL reading the morning paper and a Black Bird came down opened the box and helped himself to one. I put a towel over the box and he was determined to get the towel off. This with me 2 feet away.

Me too! I had a seagull swoop down and take an entire ice cream cone right out of my hand over in Fantasyland where the Winnie the Pooh ride now is on our first trip. On our most recent trip my friend's DD (5) had her half of a churro taken right out of her hand. Boy was she surprised and a little mad! I thought there were a lot more birds on our last trip especially in the Frontierland area. Guess it happens all the time. I also remember the first time we went my DD was 1-1/2 and taking a snooze in the stroller by the fountain at Epcot and awoke to find a duck at her feet which freaked her out but we didn't have any food. :)

A few years ago, we were in MK with DH, DS and DMIL. We decided to get some ice cream in Fantasyland, I think from Mrs. Potts' place. DH went to order and we all sat down. He was carrying 2 bowls of ice cream, and one gull swooped down and rammed into his head, while another knocked one of the bowls out of his hand!! He was double teamed by seagulls! A CM saw what had happened and replaced the ice cream. I think these birds are a little more intelligent than we thought!

Ok, this did not happened at WDW but at ocean in Maine. We wore sitting under our umbrella enjoying a beautiful ocean and weather, when my then 7 year old decided to go and dunk his toes in the ocean. He was standing there when the thief thing seagulls started dive-bombing him! My poor baby started running as fast as his little legs could carry him to our umbrella with the flock of birds following him and taking cheap shots at his lunch and head! When he finally reached the umbrella he quickly realized that the seagulls wore not giving up and still in hot pursuit of his lunch, my quick thinking baby decided that the best course of auction was to get rid of the food which would get rid of the gang of birds………. So he throw the sandwich smack at me! Of course the birds quickly realized that I had the coveted deli sandwich and change their direction for me! Well I’m not a sprint trainer but let me tell you in one jump I managed to jump out form under the umbrella and put about a 10 feet distance between me and the birds. :earseek: ::yes:: Which earned a hearty applause from near by beach goers that wore clearly amused and entertained by our mishap. This was not funny then, but now 4 years later I cannot stop laughing and tears are running down my face!

These stories are cracking me up!
Last November while my DD9 and I were enjoying our traditional meal at DTD McDonalds (Yuch) I had a HUGE Sea Gull swoop down, land on my forearm and steal my fry that was midway to my mouth. I screamed like a little school girl! Now mind you while this is happening my DD9 is laughing so hard she is almost crying. When she finally pulled herself together she looks at me and says" Do that again".

One of those nasty birds swiped my sundae right after we left Mrs. Potts Cupboard at MK. I went back and told them and they replaced it without a problem!!

Stole a french fry right from my hand at the American pavilion in Epcot. We eat inside now!

I'm not reading this thread!

Coming in contact with a bird as skeevy as a seagull is one of my worst nightmares. (I have a bird phobia.)

No, I have not had a seagull steal from me at WDW or anywhere else they hang out. I am very careful to eat indoors where I know they're around.

LOL I can't see....these stories are making me laugh so hard, tears are running down my face. Thank you for sharing them...

I've had a churro swiped at Epcot, but a vender saw the bird make its grab and it was replaced

oh jeez...some of these ARE funny!!

on our last trip, we ate at the Plaza at MK (well - the counter service place) and I wanted to eat outside because it was so nice out.

yeah - I had a seagull giving me the hairy eyeball until I left...it freaked me out...and they were double teaming us - one from the front one from the back - we ate and ran...leaving them 2 fries to fight over.

Once - on Tom Sawyer island DH and I were feeding the ducks ( i think) - I was leaning on the rails there.

yep - had to walk around the MK for the rest of the day with "bird business" all down the front of my shirt. so humiliating...especially with DH calling me "poopie" for the rest of the day...

We need to fight back. Next time you see a gull with a morsel of food, tackle it and grab it's food. If enough of us do that, the gull will learn their lesson.

Last trip to WDW, I witnessed a gull grabbing a large piece of fish from someone in the English Garden next to the Rose & Crown. I made sure to guard mine a little better. I had a flock of seagulls surrounding me as I finished my meal. When I was done, "I Ran" to the nearest trashcan to throw away my trash.

I've only been poo'ed on once. Not a pleasant experience.
