Have you ever had a car that seemed to have a huge bullseye on it?

My DH bought a new car last year. I feel like instead of it being blue, it must be painted with invisible paint.

We have gone for 10 years with no accidents. Two months ago he was side swiped by a driver with no insurance . The car, although fixed, doesn't drive the same and we had to pay out our uninsured motorist deductible. He just called me to let me know that he will late coming home tonight because he was just got rear-ended. Luckily in both accidents, no-one was hurt.

The only thing I can think is the car has been broken in :sad2:.

Our Toyota has a bullseye on it that only appears once the Toyota has come to a complete stop. This is the only time people have crashed into it.

Once rear ended during a quick stop on the highway and once while it was parked (!) and the whole side was taken out by someone trying to make a U turn on the street.

After those two incidents cost us $1000 total (both uninsured so we had to pay our $500 deductible each time, was too far apart) we lowered our deductible to $100 which is great for our peace of mind.

After we lowered our deductible it was hit (AGAIN while parked, this time in front of our house) by someone under the influence. He gave faulty insurance info but eventually gave the right one after being arrested and taken to court by the city.

Also during a storm a metal trash can flew over a hill and right into the car. The car, surprisingly, was actually in motion as I was driving it on the street during that time.

My mom had a Pontiac that was rear ended or hit over a dozen times. No joke. Some of the accidents were just plain odd like the guy who decided that he'd make his own right hand turn lane and tried to use his car to shove my mom's car out of the way while stopped at a stoplight or the the drunk who came around a curve too fast, rolled his truck into her (thankfully empty) parked car and then tried to claim he was his father. Oh, and then there was the poor dog who fell out of a moving truck bed and hit her windshield; they pulled the dog back into the truck and kept on going. Insurance loved that one.

The weird thing is that almost everyone who rear ended her while she was stopped at a red light said they didn't see her, at all. We just decided that there was something about the paint color that was difficult to see at certain times of day. It was either that or the car had a hex on it. Needless to say, her next car was bright red!

My poor sister's car definitely has a bullseye on it! Several years ago, she got a great job, saved her money and got herself a shiny, new BMW. After only a few months, a hit and run driver nailed it while it was parked outside of my cousin's house. The fender was smashed and she couldn't open the driver's side door. Luckily, my cousin owns a body shop and has lots of tools in his garage so he was able to fix it enough so we could get in and drive it home. A few years later, my parent's neighbor backed into while it was parked in front of their house. She did come and knock on the door and take responsibility, but it was a hassle for my sister to get it fixed. Then, she was parked at a bike rental place in Lake Tahoe. She came back from her bike ride to find a nice dent in the door. It looked like it came from the handlebar of a bike. No note, no nothing. She's really giving her insurance a workout!
